How does a bypass oil filter work without reducing engine oil pressure?
It comes down to controlling the oil flow. A properly designed bypass filter only uses a small, restricted amount of oil, filters it progressively from 10 down to 1 micron, then returns it to the engine.

Without that restriction, you could lose oil pressure. We’ve even tested this on a CAT C15 using a valve to turn the bypass flow on and off while monitoring oil pressure—and saw no pressure loss with the system operating correctly.
