One of the most dramatic before/after photos I have ever taken. The engine compartment on Charlie's 'Cuda before, looked like in was dragged from the depths of a swamp. Once the tired 318 2 barrel was pulled, it was worse than we thought. Unknown rust was discovered in several areas on the firewall, cowl, and aprons after it was media blasted. The rust was cut out and repaired. The engine compartment was then epoxy primed and sprayed with single stage Chrysler B3 Basin Street Blue. The K-frame and other black components were painted with Steel-It Polyurethane Black.
The 451 Stroker had been a fresh build... 20 years ago. After it was inspected from top to bottom, we added fresh break-in l**e to critical components as the old stuff had long since dripped away. We did a full cosmetic refresh on the engine. Fresh coat of paint, acid cleaning, polishing. The second photo is during the test fitting of some NOS exhaust headers, which have now been media blasted and sprayed with high performance Zybar matte black coating.
