Please send vehicle info and location with your first message. Hi, I’m John Fischer 5th, the owner and lead mechanic of Carma Repairs. I’ve been passionate about working on vehicles my entire life and bring over 3 years of professional shop experience plus years of hands-on repair and maintenance across a wide variety of vehicles. I’ve worked in both independent shops and larger service centers, including time as a mechanic at Mavis Tire and as an emergency vehicle service technician. That background taught me the importance of precision, safety, and keeping vehicles reliable under pressure. After leaving the shop environment, I’ve continued repairing and rebuilding vehicles — everything from daily driver maintenance on my family's vehicle's,friend's vehicle's, to my truck's full engine rebuild, transmission service's, brakes, suspension, A/C, diagnostics, and electrical troubleshooting. With Carma Repairs, I bring the same professional service to you, conveniently mobile, so your car gets fixed where you are. I follow manufacturer torque specifications, use proper procedures, and provide clear inspections and documentation with every job. Whether you need routine maintenance, pre-purchase inspections, or more in-depth repairs, my goal is simple: to keep your vehicle safe, reliable, and running the way it should — with honesty and care. I know first hand the trouble's,time, upsell and unfair pricing at a shop and my main reason for this start up is helping those in need on a budget!

Yesterday’s brake job was a nightmare and is still waiting on parts. Tonight’s GMC rear pads and rotors? About an hour and a half, and we’re putting the wheels back on for the final checks and test drive.

Two brake jobs, two completely different experiences. That’s how this work goes.

It’s 8:30, about 60 degrees, no wind, no rain, and quiet out here. Honestly, I don’t mind an evening job like this at all. 🔧

2012 Nissan NV2500 is officially running with the reman engine. 🔧

Oil pressure looks good, engine is running smooth, and we’re down to the last annoying issue: getting the cooling system fully bled and circulating the way it should.

At this point, the van itself is basically ready — just working through this last coolant headache before I’m comfortable putting it on the road.

Mazda3 rear brake job in Bayville turned into a serious fight: seized caliper piston, snapped bleeder screw, broken extractor, and a stuck hose fitting. The customer’s updated, and the car is staying parked while we wait for replacement rear calipers and hoses. Then we’ll finish the brakes, bleed the system, and verify everything works properly.

Another day on the Nissan NV2500 engine replacement. 🔧

We’re down to the final stretch. The reman engine is installed, accessories are back together, it has strong oil pressure and it starts and runs smoothly.

Next step is finishing the cooling-system fill, then we can finally bring it up to operating temperature and do the full running inspection before road testing.

Almost there.

A failing O2 sensor was the initial complaint, but during the inspection I learned that about four quarts of oil had been added since the last oil change—with no visible leaks.

Today, we began working through this Hyundai’s excessive oil-consumption issue.

We established an exact oil-level and mileage baseline, inspected the spark plugs, checked live engine data, and performed compression testing both cold and at full operating temperature. One cylinder showed a noticeable difference when cold, but once the engine warmed up, all four cylinders produced strong, even compression.

That rules out some major failures, but the diagnosis isn’t finished yet. Tomorrow, we’ll perform a cylinder leak-down test to evaluate how well each cylinder is sealing and help pinpoint where the oil is going.

No guessing. No parts cannon. Test it, get the numbers, and follow the evidence.

Big progress on the Nissan NV2500 engine replacement today. 🔧

The reman engine is officially alive! and confirmed 80 psi of oil pressure at start up with no symptoms, the engine starts and idles smoothly. Most of the front accessory drive is back together as well.

Next up is finishing the radiator, transmission cooler lines, power steering connections and fluids. Then it’ll be ready for a full warm-up and running inspection before we move on to road testing.

Getting close.

Big milestone on the Nissan NV2500 engine replacement today 🔧

After all the priming, testing, and double-checking the oiling system, the reman engine finally fired up under its own power and showed about 40 PSI oil pressure on the mechanical gauge.

Still have some final assembly left — intake/MAF, cooling system, trans cooler lines, fluids, and then a proper run/checkover — but getting confirmed oil pressure was the big hurdle.
