Well, smurf is down for a little bit. Was driving from town last night and felt my 1-2 shift was happening later than normal, get to 21 and loop 150 and it felt like it took off in 2nd gear, same at 21 and 1441. Get home, park it and pull the dipstick and it smells burnt (fantastic 😒) Did some research and found a governor failure can cause my issue, sure enough the mechanism inside wasn't working, im hoping that's what cause the fluid to overheat causing the burnt smell. Pulled the pan and for the most part there wasnt much glitter in the fluid itself but there was some material 😬. Since I've had the truck I've had the trans on its own external cooler at the front of the truck so it's had adequate cooling. I specifically had a constant pressure valve body installed to prevent the #1 killer on the transmissions which is low line pressure. 😬
