Moab is where RaptorBroz started before RaptorBroz even existed.

Three years ago, I was here with my wife and kids when my F-150 Raptor ended up stuck on the side of a mountain with a broken tie rod. The part was on national backorder, and I had no real idea how we were getting home.

At the time, I wasn’t creating content or building anything in this space. I was just a guy who loved these trucks, leaning on a Raptor community I hadn’t fully earned my place in yet.

Then Moab showed up. Rory from showed up. The Raptor community showed up. Even helped connect dots and point me toward people who could help track down parts.

That moment stuck with me because people who didn’t owe me anything still chose to help.

That was the spark for RaptorBroz.

So coming back three years later for felt full circle. Most people don’t think of Ford Raptors when they think of Moab. They think Jeeps, Broncos, crawlers, and slow technical trails.

But there I was, driving a Bronco Raptor behind an F-150 Raptor, taking on Hells Revenge and realizing again why this platform is so special.

Capability isn’t just doing what everyone expects you to do. Sometimes it’s showing up somewhere people don’t expect you to belong and proving you can handle it anyway.

After four days in Moab, I left more grateful than ever for this off-road community, the people who drive it, and the relationships that mean more than any sponsorship ever could.

Moab is where the idea started.

This trip reminded me why it’s worth building.

Moab has always carried weight in the off-road world. It’s one of those places people talk about before they ever get there, and remember long after they leave.

The Raptor was never the obvious Moab vehicle, but every year, owners bring these big, wide, expensive trucks into slickrock country anyway. And I think that says a lot about why this truck works.

Capability isn’t just doing what you were built for. It’s looking at something people think you probably shouldn’t attempt, and going anyway.

A lesson that carries well beyond trucks.

Ford didn’t just build a truck for people to own. They built something people gather around, travel for, and earn stories through.

Moab is just one piece of that story.

The road less traveled takes on many forms. This year, mine looked like starting over at 37.

After hip surgery ended my flying career in the Navy, and ankle surgery ended my civilian flying path, I found myself chasing a childhood dream I never fully let go of: being involved with and the world.

I just didn’t expect the way back in to look like starting a Raptor page and a Raptor run club from scratch, while still trying to be present as a husband and father.

From Ford Racing’s Raptor Rally, Season Launch, and King of the Hammers, to working with brands like , , and , to meeting so many incredible people across the off-road and Raptor community, I’m beyond grateful for where this road has taken me.

I don’t know exactly where it leads yet, but as I wrap up my spring semester at the University of Tampa, I know the pursuit is far from over.

My road hasn’t been traditional, and it definitely hasn’t been easy.

But the best roads usually aren’t given to us.

They’re built.
