The first endurance race of the season didn’t end the way we wanted.
After three hours of racing, while leading our competition, the weak link in the car finally showed itself — the clutch gave out, and our race was over.
But we’re not going to focus on the ending. We’re going to focus on everything that got us there.
First and foremost, huge credit to the Abolds who only had the car for four days before the event. They worked nonstop to get it race-ready, putting in long hours and giving everything they had to make this weekend possible. The effort behind the scenes was incredible.
All four drivers drove their hearts out today. Even with the disadvantage of running four drivers against competitors running only two — which meant extra pit stops and more time spent in pit lane — we were still able to stay ahead and control the race for hours.
The pace was there too. The team laid down the fastest lap of the race with a 1:14, proving what this car is capable of.
The positives are clear: the brakes were strong, the suspension worked flawlessly, and the motor never missed a beat. The pace, teamwork, and determination were all there.
Unfortunately, the weak link turned out to be the clutch.
That’s endurance racing. You learn, you rebuild, and you come back stronger.
On a personal note, we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to drive with this team. Weekends like this create memories that will last a lifetime.
For Taki, this race brought back memories from his rally days, where driving for hours at a time was part of the challenge and excitement. It was special to reconnect with those feelings again and experience that endurance mindset once more alongside such an amazing group of people.
We’ll be ready for the next one.
