A piece of history is traveling to Bellingham middle school Aug 22-25! Make sure to plan a visit to see the 58,000 names on the mobile Vietnam War Memorial! This is a replica of the wall in Washington D.C.! Open 24 hours for 3 days!
The memorial will arrive by police and motorcycle es**rt on Aug 20 @ 3:30 pm. Bellingham is asking people to line the route along 126 as the truck nears Bellingham Middle School. If you’d like to see this procession be there by 3:30 pm.
Volunteers are welcome to help with set up on August 21. See the link in the article for more details if you’d like to be involved.
The memorial will be set up with the wall for viewing and a mobile museum, plus an army helicopter will be on display.
There will be a ceremony each morning at 8 am.
At 5 pm each day Aug 22-Aug 25 there will be a ceremony with presentation of colors and speeches.
Thursday Aug 22 - Massachusetts own Ayla Brown will sing @ 5 pm
Friday Aug 23 - You can participate if you have a family member with a name inscribed on the wall.
A three-quarter replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC (pictured right), will be on display in Bellingham August 22-25 as part of the town’s 300th anniversary celebration.
