Had a bit of a treasure hunt out in Hackberry today! The owner's electric leveling jacks weren't working, and the display was throwing a rear fault sensor code. Lippert and Grand Design said the sensor should be about two feet from the rear axle, but after digging through the underbelly, we finally tracked it down a full foot from the rear of the RV — definitely not where the spec sheet said it'd be! The customer was thrilled we located it and decided to handle the install themselves once the new part arrives. Dirty job, happy customer, and another one in the books for En Route RV Services.

Took a trip out to Sun Coastal RV Park in Cameron, LA this week for a tricky water heater call — it would heat for a few minutes and then quit completely. Turns out the previous repairs used the wrong parts: two 12-volt T-stats were installed instead of one 120V and one 12V, and the wire gauge to the 120 switch was too small and literally burning up. We swapped in the correct Suburban components, rewired it properly, and left our customer with reliable hot water and a big smile. This Suburban water heater had a worn-out anode rod, down to a bare wire.

The owner's electric side wasn't heating. On the job in Cameron, we found the heating element caked with scale and arcing. The anode rod was worn down to almost nothing.

The pencil test: if the rod is down to about pencil-thin, replace it. Check it once a year, or every 6 months if you live in your RV full-time.

Our second stop of the day brought us to a Tiffin Class B for a new awning fabric installation! The install was going smoothly until the wind decided to join in — but our team handled it without missing a beat and got everything buttoned up perfectly. Spent the day in North Lake Charles installing a brand-new patio awning fabric on a fifth wheel — and we had the best supervisor on the job: a sweet little puppy who tuckered himself out watching us work! While we were there, we also gave the AC units a much-needed deep cleaning, and the owner was thrilled with the results. Nothing beats leaving a customer (and their pup) happy. Just another great day on the road with En Route RV Services!

Made a trip down to Holly Beach today to help a customer get their RV A/C back where it needed to be. We installed a new Coleman Mach A/C, took care of a few issues from the previous installation, and made sure everything was properly set up and operating as it should. After installation, we finished with a solid 20° Delta T and plenty of cool air inside the RV. 👍 Always a good feeling to leave knowing the customer is comfortable and the job was done right.

Spent the day at the beautiful Pickled Pelican RV Resort in Holly Beach (Cameron, LA) working on a sweet little teardrop camper. The customer had a water pump that needed replacing and a low point drain that was leaking — both got sorted out and she's back in business! At 6'2", squeezing into a teardrop had me feeling like Gandalf in a hobbit hole, but the En Route RV Services team always makes it work. Gorgeous day, great customer, happy camper — can't beat that.

Another great day down in Cameron, Louisiana, near the CP2 LNG construction site! We were called out for two ACs that were cooling but not performing at peak — and once we looked at those condenser coils, we knew exactly why. After a thorough cleaning, the unit could finally transfer heat the way it's designed to, and the customer was one happy camper. Another happy camper today! 💧 We got a call about a Suburban water heater that was running on gas but wouldn't fire up on electric. After some troubleshooting, we tracked it down to a faulty exterior switch — swapped it out, tested the heating element and T-stats to make sure nothing else was contributing, and got everything back up and running as designed. When your water heater acts up, En Route RV Services comes to you so you can get back to enjoying your rig!
