🙏 No More "Praying" Not to Fall Through the Floor!

We recently tackled a bathroom floor repair that was one for the books. This wasn't just a "soft" spot; it was a "floating" floor that was literally resting on the black tank instead of being tied to the studs. Every time the customer stepped into the bathroom, they were praying they wouldn't fall straight through.

My good friend Todd from 4speedrv stepped in to help me fix things right. We stripped it down, found the frame, and rebuilt it stronger than it was when it left the factory. No more sitting on the black tank—now it's a rock-solid foundation you can actually trust.

When you have a view like this while working on your customer's RV issues, you seem relaxed. It was a great day teaching customers about some of the components in their RVs 🔧🚐. Heck, some even teach me new tricks they've learned while living in their RVs on the road.

TIP: If you have a Suburban water heater 💧, check your anode rod at least once a year if you're a weekend warrior. If you're full-time, I recommend checking it twice a year ⏱️. While the anode rod is out, take a few minutes to flush out the loose water deposits and debris that settle at the bottom of the tank 🧽🪨. You'll be surprised at what comes out 😳.

You're not a happy camper 😥 when your slide-out stops working.

Yesterday, we were in Westlake, LA, performing warranty repairs on a beautiful Alliance RV 5th-wheel. The slide-out had been installed with misaligned cables, causing one to jump the pulley and fray — a recipe for failure.

We removed the bed assembly to access the components, adjusted the pulley bracket, and installed two new cables. The result? A smooth, reliable slide-out and peace of mind for our customers.

Best part?

They didn’t have to haul their RV to a dealership and wait months for a repair. We came to them, handled the warranty process, and got them back on the road faster.

With the cold weather ❄️, a working dryer is essential. Today in Vinton, LA, I fixed a dryer that had completely stopped—turned out to be a non-resetting thermostat 🔧. A quick replacement, and it’s running again.

The customer also had concerns about a leaking dishwasher. They stopped the leak themselves; I just confirmed it’s all good 💧. I really appreciate when folks handle the small stuff and call me in when needed.

Today I worked in Vinton, Louisiana, on a customer's dryer that wasn’t working at all. It was nice to be able to work on it right there in the closet. I diagnosed it as a thermostat that doesn’t reset after tripping. After installing a new one, my customer is up and running and will have dry clothes tomorrow.

The customer had me take a look at the dishwasher that had been leaking. They were able to stop the leak, but had concerns that it might still be leaking. I opened her up, ran it for a cycle, and found that the customer had stopped the leak. I like it when our customers can do the minor maintenance themselves.

While working in Moss Bluff today, we had to help a customer who had a little fender bender. The customer reached out to the manufacturer to obtain a quote for a new J channel. He learned real quickly how expensive a 16-foot J channel is, including shipping. They would not sell him a smaller piece. So today we took it off, banged on it a lot, and you can see the before-and-after photo below. The customer was happy, and I was pleased.

It’s cold ❄️ today in South Lake Charles. Our customer’s furnace would run for only 15 seconds before shutting off. Some would say it was the sail switch, but today it was a thermostat issue that needed to be replaced.
