Paintless Dent Repair (PDR), also known as Paintless Dent Removal, is a process of removing dents and dings from the exterior of an automobile. As long as the paint is not damaged and remains intact, a wide range of damage can be repaired using the Paintless Dent Repair method. Both aluminum and steel panels may be repairable with the Paintless Dent Removal process. The most common types of damage

that Paintless Dent Repair is a practical method are Hail Damage, door dings, crease dents, medium to large dents, and body lines dents. Factors that may limit a successful Paintless Dent Repair include: the flexibility of the paint (most automotive paint finishes today are PDR friendly), the extent to which the metal has been stretched from the impact, depth and sharpness, and access to the backside for more extreme dents. A visual inspection by an experienced technician will help determine if your dent is a good candidate for Paintless Dent Repair. Advancements with tooling, glues, and glue tabs are opening up the repair possibilities. Paintless Dent Repair can also be utilized to restore a damaged panel to shape for refinishing. Also minimizing the use of body fillers (Bondo) and speeding up the overall Body/Paint process. This process is known as “push to paint” or “push for repair”.
