These aluminum radar bases are a common problem. I’ll be stripping, priming and spraying this one with Awlcraft 3000 next week. I’ll post along the process. If you have something like this going on, give me a call! They are easily removed and brought to the shop.

A couple photos from our mission to Islamorada last week. We try to make the best of all situations 😀

Last week we had the pleasure of riding down to Islamorada to pick up a 21’ Parker on a tandem axle trailer for a good friend of ours. Trailer condition- unknown.
First- Find out axle and tire size.
Second- Load truck with 2 greased and loaded hubs(there are 4 total but 2 is a good start), 1 spare tire, 5 ton floor jack, 4 way lug wrench and of course all the hand tools that live in the truck.
I also rigged up trailer lights mounted on a PVC pipe because existing trailer lights rarely work and we’re doing a 185mi trip. (One was missing and wiring was a disaster)
We ended up changing 2 hubs and zero flat tires. I noticed one hub was bad before we left and the other was toasted in Key Largo.
Of course Amy and I don’t just run down and come right home. We found a place called Drop Anchor, a nice oceanfront resort and hung out a couple days.

1st coat around the bridge of “Freedom” a 60’ Carolina sportfish. Previously named “Floridian”, a boat with some serious history in the Stuart area. Proven tournament winner and successful charter boat. She’s now with charter fleet “Addiction” in Ft. Pierce. We’re painting the entire topsides with Cloud white Awlgrip- roller application.

We had the pleasure of rigging out a 20’ Dusky rebuild including a new custom T-top and leaning post by Peacocks Fabrication! We installed a complete JL Audio system w/ 7.7” coaxial speakers and a 10” subwoofer, Standard Horizon VHF w/ 8’ antenna and GPS distress button, Electric trim tabs by Lenco, Lee’s rodholders, Retractable cleats, Frigid Rigid coffin box up front w/ custom upholstery and of course a full detail before she departs us- for now.

PSA - Always remember to check your bonding wires. We found one that wasn’t secure on this thru-hull seacock to the air con pump. It was almost game over.
