Got around to some weathering.
Weathering always stresses me out. It looks horrible until it’s finished. Using some new products and techniques doesn’t help the feeling of dread. Who is going to get down in the floor and look that closely, anyway?

My tedious masking process for adding additional colors. There is always a better way, so share any brands, tips, etc.

Most important, make sure the first color is cured. As painful as it is, I wait at least 3-4 days. This has worked so far. 🤞🏻

I use Tamiya brand tape first. Most hobbyists agree it’s the most delicate on the first coat. It has failed me a few times, but I do not know if I was going by my “3 day rule” at the time. Most agree Tamiya is still the best.

From there, I will cut sections of plastic bags or paper for larger sections seamed with standard 3M Blue tape.

Now, it’s time to paint.
Once dry, you can undo all of the work you did. 😁

Jumping into the weekend with more Commando Droid work. I may be doing more sanding than painting this weekend. I may surprise myself and sand quickly enough to paint, also. After these last few bits, this guy will be wrapped up. Weird that it’s time to decide what other droid to work on. May e well try a vote.
