Discovered a stache of Dietz Little Wizard lanterns. Most of these lanterns are older than my 1st microwaved Swanson TV Dinner. They work. Fuel is more expensive than cheap caviar p*e. Kerosene stinks ... testing out alternatives like a product called klean heat. Tomorrow I test out my emergency kerosene heater. Just call me the Ye Ole Country fireman. :)

FISHING THE ASHOKAN: ELECTION DAY BLUES !!!
It was a beautiful day, but frigid day on the reservoir, Tuesday morning when we pulled up at 6:25 am. But we were determined to get in some end-of-the-season fishing. Salman Khan Nibir had already drove over 3 hours in the wee morning hours, stopping off at a bait shop 40 minutes away, before we even started.

The fish were there, according to the fish finder ... in those special deep spots .... but, except for the white perch, it was one of those dog days, where the winter chill and water was sooo cold, even the fish didn't want to make the effort to sn**ch one of these expensive sawbellies.

I got to use my boat ... and we had a good time, despite taking a day out to thaw .. Every day you can get out on the water .. IS A GOOD DAY !

This Sleepy, upstate New York Catskill town is called Fishtown NY. They even have a museum. Not kidding ... And the streams draw sportsman in from 7 continents. I dreamed of coming here from reading about Roscoe and Livingston Manor in the pulp, outdoor, sportsman's magazines as a kid.

Woodstock NY ... yes, the infamous arts community ... has the best fireworks display ever, every August ... Nestled in the mountains, the fire department does a wonderful job.
