62' Buick skylark convertible
Brake system upgrades among other mechanical systems restored.

Brake system layout fabrication happening today on a 62' buick skylark convertible. It's getting an upgrade to disc front brakes, and a better master cylinder and booster. Now that the pocket is made out of cardboard, time to make some steel pieces fit the hole.

It's very satisfying when you finally come down to the problem. Never mind the amount of frustrating getting there was.

Today.
Today, she drove, side roads, highways, she drove. No issues reared up, nothing broke. We took our time, we cruised, we listened. Now we make a few adjustments. We clean up, buff and polish, and test. And re-test. And double check the details.
Time for her to go home soon now.

The maiden voyage had a mishap. The 150A alternator will carry the electric load with no problem. The single belt pulley however, was not up to the task. Thus the water pump circulation ceases as the single belt melts and snaps. The correction is in depth, invasive, and tedious. But careful investigation leads to the poper corrections the first time around.

She sure does look pretty though, sitting in the sunshine waiting for the upgraded engine to go back home.

When it throws the water pump belt on it's maiden voyage.
Overheated and damaged a piston. Repairable, just unfortunate, but better now than in a customer's hands.
