A look inside this week's episode with Caitlin Lanier Yoga a trauma-informed yoga teacher and social worker based in Boise, ID

'If you think of trauma at its root is disconnection. Then on the flip side, we have yoga which looking at the Sanskrit meaning to yoke to join, unity, to come together. Yoga is this ancient practice about uniting mind body spirit. It's a natural antidote to trauma' Caitlin Lanier

How has Yoga healed you?

For me, the practice of Yoga has given me permission to be kind, compassionate to my body and give it what it needs instead of me telling it what it needs or how it needs to be

Yoga has cracked me open and empowered me - showing me that everything I need resides right inside of me

Yoga has taught me how to listen to the sensations of my body and understand it's ancient language so I can better serve it

The start of season 2 is at the start of COVID -19. There have been many shifts to our daily life and overall security. Stepping out of the cycle of fight or flight and finding our own flow

One thing yoga has taught me is how resilient I am

Angela Boulet the guest on episode 3 reminds us yoga imitates life

Angela reminds us that while chaos and confusion swirls around and within us it is in that moment when we scared as hell to find the courage to accept what we can chance and move with utter courage

In this episode she shares her resilient tools with you and leaves you empowered and equipped to show up and be who you are when fear doesn’t take hold of you

How are you going to show up?

yogakane podcast

Yogakane (yoga-can) is a podcast all about Yoga within the Pacific Northwest region. I'll talk to people involved within the Yoga community ranging from British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon to Washington ask them my questions and capture their Yoga stories.

In June of 2018 I became a certified Yoga instructor, through this process I discovered that we are blessed in our region with some credible and insightful Yogis and Yoginis. People who come from different lineages, people who have unique approaches to the practice but at their root is this integrity to honor the practice of Yoga and keep their students safe on their inward journey. I think that's super cool and I can't wait to capture their voice, their essence through these interviews and share with you.

Yoga means to Yoke or bind and through Yogakane we will yoke our Yoga community!

The Yogakane podcast has been created for all Yogis and Yoginis.
