After a year of frustration last night we finished the year with our best performance. It was a fun and emotional night to close out the season. With that being said I am stepping away from racing and moving on due to personal reasons. Over the last 12 years I have had some amazing memories and some unfortunate luck. I am proud of what I built as a self funded race team for most of my career. So many people to thank, all of the sponsors over the years who supported me. All of the friends and fans who cheered for me, wore my shirts, rocked my window stickers. Thank you to my friends Josh Fellows, bud lee, matt janczuk and Bill Sauve for helping me over the years. Thank you to my best friend Andrew Ferguson and Mike Ferguson for giving me knowledge and support for so many years. Thank you to my last sponsor who I now call a friend Rick Heintz II. Thank you my crew member and second father Harold Clawson who has been with me for so long and never gave up on me. Thank you to my co owner Lance Nelson for believing in me and all over of your support the last few years. Thank you to my main sponsor this season and crew chief Kevin Clawson. I appreciate all of your dedication and being the loudest one cheering for me in the stands. Thank you to my grandfather Jean Havill for being one of my first influences in racing and helping me get my first race car. Thank you to my my mom Karen Jean Havill who has always kept me positive and being so supportive. Thank you to my father John Demetro Sr. who has been there since day 1. Busting your butt, driving us where ever we needed to go, securing a sponsor that change my career, and always being proud of me. Finally thank you to my wife Rachel Gacek-DeMetro for all the long nights in the garage, the missed summer events, supporting me through thick and thin, being my number 1 fan. With that being said I am happy to have made it this far. My advice to few drivers/owners whether you have no budget, someone paying the budget, or a low dollar team like me to always be humble. Be humble for the opportunities you have to do something you are passionate about while you can. Peace ✌️
