With so many great folks following along on this knotted journey, I figured an intro post was due.
Macrame Mama WI LLC (AKA Megan, Mama) here and excited to share the love of fiber arts with others.
🪢I learned basic macrame knots in 2023 at a La Crosse County Library program
🧶Over the following six months I spent a lot of time playing with materials, knotting, untying, cutting cords and learning as much as I could about the art of macrame
💕 I was invited to sell some of my pieces at an anniversary event for The Motherhood Collective in late 2023
✨️ I registered for an LLC in Jan 2024 and launched an online site and shop
✂️ I have had a BLAST connecting other incredible local business owners to collaborate on offering macrame classes, consigning in their store, providing wholesale orders, hosting community events and more
♻️ A significant value for MMWI LLC is to utilize as many upcycled, recycled, reclaimed and repurposed materials in each and every piece to be the kind of Mama that seeks to leave the world better than I found it for my kiddo
🕊 I am a full time Healthcare chaplain serving a regional Healthcare organization and have found macrame to be a fulfilling creative outlet that helps me to process the difficult elements of my work
🇲🇦 FUN FACT:: I lived in Morocco for a couple of years and studied the local dialect while also teaching English at a flight attendant school ✈️ I can talk your ear off about my love 💓 for most all things Morocco 🇲🇦
