As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve in the United States, Dr. Jeffrey White has a short message for our patients. In addition to disinfecting our exam lanes and equipment between each patient encounter, Carolina Eye Associates has implemented numerous other safety efforts to help keep our patients safe.

Yesterday one of our doctors, Nicole Apple, volunteered at Sandhills Community College for Glaucoma screenings with the Ophthalmic Medical Personnel Program. The students did various tests on each patient to find out their potential risk for Glaucoma. Dr. Apple helped explain these findings and discussed their level of risk with both the students and the patients. The Ophthalmic Medical Program at Sandhills Community College is a 1-year program that prepares individuals to perform ophthalmic procedures in medical institutions, clinics, or physician practices. Alberta Purvis is the OMP Program Coordinator. Thank you to Alberta and Dr. Apple for assisting in the continued education of the OMP students!
