Splitter Rental
Hi thanks for your interest. I have been beating my home with wood most of my life. As a result I have a reliable log splitter that I rent out while not using it myself. I have been renting log splitters on Craigslist and face for about 15 years.
Here are the details of the splitter rental.
Rental is $60 per day.
One of the things you'll enjoy with my process is flexibility. No rushing around to get stuff back by a certain time. I usually try to send it out the night before so there's no rushing around for either of us in the morning and typically I expect it back by dark since you can't really split in the dark, or earlier if you're done with it. I usually hammer out exact times a day or 2 before as everyone's schedule is probably as crazy as mine. I work shift work so sometimes I'll have to get it to you a day earlier or first thing in the morning occasionally.
At the beginning of rental I require payment in advance for the rental in CASH and a check for security in the amount of $100. Post dates are fine as this check will be returned to you at rental completion provided you have not somehow abused and damaged the splitter. The splitter is still under factory warranty and short of you driving over it, most likely you will not hurt it. The splitter is towable with a 2" ball. I have a ball on a square receiver to loan if you need it. Do not back up with splitter hitched to your vehicle! It is short and hard to control.
Delivery and pick up service is available. Delivery is $50 plus $2.00 per loaded mile. (for example if you live 10 miles from me, delivery and pickup is $50+ $20 +20.) I will need an exact address to give you a firm delivery quote.
I also will require a Rental Agreement to be completed and signed. I will email you a copy and you can print out and complete it and have it ready for me to speed up the process or you can sign it and email it back to me as well.
There will be no credit for early returns unless agreed upon beforehand. (This helps me book it properly.) We will work out times for pick-up and drop off as the time gets nearer. I try to drop off if I am delivering or to have you pick it up the evening before the rental so you will have a full day to split.
You will notice that my splitter is extremely well maintained and serviced. Please use care not to drop logs and splits on it. Please store inside or at least under cover while not in use. There are trays on each side of the beam. Please be sure you are not applying pressure to these with the log you are splitting or dropping logs on them. This causes the bolts to bend, strip and break. There will be a $10 charge per bolt for any that I have to replace if you damage them.
Lastly, the new fuel has ethanol. It can go bad sitting in your gas can in 2 weeks! To avoid problems in your small equipment (and mine!) please use PREMIUM fuel for my splitter.
