I’m curious what the actual change is? Most light truck “sense DEF quality” and flag it based on a calculation between the existing upstream and downstream NOx sensors. The DEF quality is already determined by NOx sensors…

The EPA now lets manufacturers replace diesel urea quality sensors with NOx sensors on trucks, tractors, buses, and other equipment.

Just in time!

Customer brought us this truck to check out a noise in front. As soon as we picked it up the upper ball joint separated. If this had happened at freeway speeds or even just going faster than parking lot speeds it would have been catastrophic!

Regularly - at least annually - have your vehicle inspected by a reputable licensed auto repair shop or dealership. You risk losing a lot more than the cost of a few worn parts.

Due to the tornado passing near the shop Tuesday night, we are going into the weekend with still no phones and internet - this means we can’t efficiently do a lot of “normal” things, including ordering parts, invoicing, printing receipts, looking up service history, returning phone calls, communication with customers, or use most of our subscription-based tools, and even some banking. We are doing the best we can with cel phones but coverage is spotty, so workflow progress is S-L-O-W. Spectrum has not really given us a straight answer on ETA for restoration or even what needs to happen there, but we are scheduled to look at some alternatives early next week and hope to be back to 100% Tuesday afternoon/evening. Thanks for your continued patience.

We were very blessed to have come through last night with very little damage. Thankfully we were spared. Customer cars all look fine. Destruction all around though. I’m sure it will be at least a day or two before power is restored. Power lines down all over but the men and women working the disaster crews are on it and setting new poles and cleaning up faster than I’d have thought possible.

Proper diagnostics. We get calls all the time: “it has code P0###. How much to change _____?” We always try to get the car in front of us for our techs to check out. This corroded ground looked ok until we tested/touched it. It was causing the dreaded “Check Engine Light”, codes for an O2 Sensor, and what looked to be an intake manifold replacement and some other parts.. All together over $1000. We were able to leverage our top notch diagnostics and repair those faults for under $200 - a win for everyone.
