I want to give a shout out to everyone who got to run this past weekend. Last week and this week have been very busy at the shop, but I have gotten several new carburetors out and have had several sent to me from customers for upgrades. I went to EAMS last weekend; I had a good time hanging out with a few old friends and seeing them run. Thanks again, and I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

I had a productive week at the shop. This week I received several E85 carburetors for crate engines. Next week, I'll be working with wide bore carburetors that customers have sent for upgrades. I would like to wish everyone competing this weekend good luck and safety.

Got a set of old school ring tops splits in the shop this week. Customer said they seemed to idle ok but would have trouble getting up on the converter if the rpms wasn't up high. He told me the engine had been setting up about a year while his new car was being built. Well I took some pictures of what I found on the inside of the bowls. As you can see the chemicals in the fuel after setting for so long and drying out started to attack the aluminum on the bowls and metering blocks. The reason it would not go on the converter is because the 3rd circuit fuel jets were stopped up with corrosion keeping the engine from getting the fuel it needs. I cleaned the body's to get the carbon residue and dirt from the outside but regular cleaning and wire brushing want removed the corrosion. I found a solution to remove that white powder and was able to save the bowls and metering blocks. This set went on a 738ci Fulton engine. The customer called me after he installed them and said they were jumping up on the converter. If anyone has any questions or I can help text or call at 334.298.2220 or text 706.888.6855

A guy a few weeks ago called me about a new set of 1050 hp style dominators he had built for his 462ci small block Ford that he had just freshened up. He was telling me he was having trouble when he would go up on the converter the engine would come up then just fall off and if he didn't get off the throttle the engine would go completely dead. He had got back with the company that had built them a month earlier and had no success. I told him to send them to me and let me see what I could do to them to solve the problem he is having. When I received them and took them apart and got them on the flow bench and seen some flow numbers I started to see some of the issues that were giving him some problems. The first major issue was that his booster signal was very low and without signal the engine can't make power. The next problem was one of the transfer slot had aluminum shavings caught up in it and was blocking the fuel. Then I noticed that the third circuit exit tubes that hang into the ventures were cut straight off. so I went back to the flow bench and check the signal on the stright cut tube and there was more of the issues he was having getting on the converter. So I went to the flow bench and worked with different style boosters to find what size worked best with the ventures and throttle bore. Then I removed the third circuit tubes from the ventures and installed the correct ones that give the best signal. I also removed the transfer slot access Plug to get the shavings out. I recalibrated all 3 circuits to get the correct fuel delivery threw out the rpm range of the engine. I also changed his pump arms and secondary linkage to increase the throttle response. Hopefully this my help someone that's having some issues like this guy was having. You can text or call me at 334.298.2220 or cell 706.888.6855 Thanks much

Pete Simpson was having some issues with a box 1050 4500 last week he got it to me. He told me that it wasn't crisp like it had been at one time. When I took it apart got to looking around I found some trash In the idle circuits. Not all the time but in some cases it don't take but a very small piece of trash in the idle circuits to restrict the fuel. The engine has enough fuel to idle but not enough to go through the transition to the main circuit's and bring the engine up on the converter in a drag car or like a circle track application to get the car up off the corner. After I cleaned everything good got fresh parts back in it. After he got it back on the engine it was back running like it should. If anyone has any questions on their application or problems you may be having just give me a call and I'll help all I can it don't matter name built it or where you got it. 334.298.2220/706.888.6855

Well had a customer call early last week and was telling his carburetor did not want to and would not take the gas. Now this engine is running E85 fuel. I told him to send it to me and I'll take a look and see what's up with it. This is what I found.
