Summer on the water can bring unexpected surprises for boat owners.

We were called to assist with towing and securing a vessel in Belfair. The engine compartment was dry, so there was no water intrusion to worry about. We made sure to unplug the heater, trickle charger, and fan, and left the shore power cable onboard as requested. Everything was handled with care to protect the vessel and surrounding area.

It's always rewarding to help keep local boats safe and sound. If you need vessel assistance, we're ready to help.

Not a Halloween post… just one of this week’s dive jobs.

Let’s just say we probably saved the owners a whole lot of time, money, and headaches by getting this taken care of with the right tools, experience, and a little YSS Marine Salvage magic.

We won’t say it was an easy-peasy job… because it definitely wasn’t.
But with the right team, the right equipment, and a few immersions, we got it done. Another day underwater, another problem solved.

These are some of the after shots from a challenging but incredibly rewarding job. Because, believe it or not, sometimes one little loose rope can turn into a whole lot of trouble. Left unchecked, it can cause serious damage and compromise the integrity of an entire structure. And that’s definitely not the kind of surprise anyone wants while docking!

That’s where we come in! With John Bluthumb Marine’s experience, expertise, and plenty of manpower, we tackle the problems hiding beneath the surface so you don’t have to!

Miss Gig Is Getting a Little Face Lift!
It was time to take Miss Gig out of the water and relocate her for some exciting upgrades. But moving your baby isn’t something you take lightly, and we certainly weren’t going to do it alone!

We teamed up with Casey from Drift Company Boat Hauling to make it happen, and let us tell you… this operation felt a little like NASA was involved! 🚀

From careful planning and coordinating, to making sure every step was executed safely and securely, this was a true team effort. When you’re moving something this important to us, precision, preparation, and communication are everything. And knowing Miss Gig was in good hands gave us the peace of mind we needed.

Some great upgrades are coming, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next! 👀🔥

“Do you want it back or not? Because she’s your girl if you want it!”

And that’s how our first international recovery began!
We received a call to recover a special crab pot, and this mission took us far from home. Since we were operating in the Point Roberts area, we departed from Point Roberts Marina aboard the marina’s security vessel.

The owners had been searching for a recovery team, but no one had been willing to take on the job. When Katherine arrived, there was a little surprise that the diver showing up to handle the recovery was a woman.

The response? “She’s going to get it?”

Let’s just say Katherine has heard that question before. 😉
At YSS Marine Salvage, we believe the job speaks louder than assumptions. Experience, training, preparation, and the right team are what get the work done, regardless of who is wearing the dive gear.

And this recovery? We were happy to deliver.

This wasn’t your typical day at the office, Operating away from home, crossing borders, coordinating with the marina, and working in challenging underwater conditions made this a memorable mission.

We’re proud to say the recovery was a success! 💪
This was another reminder that marine salvage takes preparation, teamwork, and professionals who are ready to get the job done.
