Historically, classic bowriders had narrow, tightly-tapered front lounges. They cut through water beautifully, but they crammed passengers’ feet together. For the SPX series, Sea Ray’s design team pulled off a clever engineering feat: they kept a sleek, wave cutting V-hull on the outside, but carried the boat’s massive 8’6” beam incredibly far forward.
By broadening the interior gunwales, you get a deep, spacious U-shaped lounge that lets adults actually stretch out without bumping knees.
Underneath, the sharp entry of the V-hull remains untouched, slicing through lake chop without the rough ride of a flat nosed deck boat.
