Adopted from the local scrap metal recycling yard for the cost of the metal.

We had a weird premonition to check the local recycler for parts. I found that they had a 76 gremlin that was dropped a few days back. I was gonna go to pull parts and found that it would be cheaper to pick up the car, part of all the metal and interior and then return the car. However, I have a problem with anthropomorphizing in cars and now I have a second gremlin.

I will be selling my blue truck because while I can always get another Dentside F250, getting another gremlin is much harder. There’s going to come a point when some of these cars are functionally extinct and if I can do my part in saving one more of these, then I’ll do my best.

I’m not sure what I’m gonna do with it and when but for now I’m gonna try to get the engine to turn over. And take some of the good parts from this one and swap them out for some of the less good parts on the rotary gremlin.

Eventually, I have some plans for it, but it’ll have to wait until the blue gremlin is running.

The big mustang is getting closer and closer to being done!

I need to stop bringing in cars that have sat outside for 20+ years but until then, I will continue to burn through PB Blaster like I’m sponsored by them (I wish😂)

We’ve burned through half a big tank of Blaster on dropping the transmission of the Hutchison, many many small bottles on the rally gremlin and only the lord knows how many we’ve burned through on the rest of the nightmares in the shop 😂

Biggest crisis is when harbor freight is out of the stuff.

This may be a unique experience to me but legit this is how it feels to sandblast under the dash while laying in sand 😂

I finally understand how it feels to be a chinchilla taking a sand bath 😂

Currently sandblasting the interior of the gremlin. I now realize the 3k quote I got to sand the gremlin may have been worth it but too far in to quit now. About to start who knows what day of sandblasting haha. I should be done soon with the interior and will continue with patching the rust spots uncovered under the paint and found by the needle scaler.

I may be the only one that finds this funny but 🤷🏼‍♀️ finding funny progress update templates is hard

It was a 302 spa day this weekend

In November of 2025, we decided to start a team to race a 67 mustang in the 2027 mint 400. In those 5 months, we’ve also picked up the original Hutchison Mustang which was the inspiration to this whole event. After a lot of limbo on rules and classes, we can finally start making progress on the two cars.

Both v1 engine prototypes of the Baja and Hutchison mustangs got a hone. We’re making decisions on pistons/cams/lifters/springs/rockers now but our goal is to have our v1 prototypes running by end of June!
