Tomorrow on YachtLens: Hull No. 1 of the new Numarine 27XP.

At nearly 89 feet, the interesting story isn’t simply the space. Numarine used owner feedback from the 26XP to rethink the platform: more beam, a larger galley, flexible 4- or 5-cabin arrangements, a proper main-deck VIP option, and serious attention to machinery access, diagnostics and serviceability.

Hull No. 1 also brings a 92.8 kWh battery system and 5.6 kW of solar into the cruising equation.

We toured the boat in Cannes with Ali Tanır, Head of Americas for Numarine.

Tomorrow, we’ll take you aboard.

What would you want to examine first on an explorer yacht this size: layout, systems, owner operation, or machinery access?

Bering has spent years building its identity around steel explorer yachts. The new BC60 takes that same philosophy somewhere very different.

Hull No. 1 is an all-aluminum 62-foot expedition catamaran, but what interested me most wasn’t simply the amount of interior volume. It was how deliberately Bering used that volume.

Storage appears almost everywhere. Machinery spaces are designed around service access. Technical areas get real space. And the boat feels designed around owners who intend to cruise rather than simply entertain at the dock.

We filmed the completed first hull in Cannes with Mustafa Cin, who took us unusually deep into the systems and engineering behind the design.

Does the BC60 feel like a logical evolution of Bering’s explorer philosophy, or is a catamaran simply too different from what you associate with the brand?

Bering’s expedition DNA. Two hulls. A very different approach to the explorer yacht.

This weekend, YachtLens takes you aboard Hull No. 1 of the new Bering BC60, filmed at the Cannes Yachting Festival.

Our guide is Mustafa Cin, Executive Director of Bering Yachts and project manager and lead engineer for the BC60. He explains not just what’s aboard, but the thinking behind it.

For me, the interesting part wasn’t simply the space. It was what Bering does with it: usable storage, accessible systems and machinery spaces that invite a closer look.

Would you choose Bering’s traditional steel monohull explorer, or its new aluminum catamaran approach?

Full walkthrough coming this weekend on YachtLens’s YouTube channel.

Getting aboard is only the first step. What happens when an owner wants to move between the master stateroom, main deck and flybridge independently?

Horizon says it has addressed that question in the PC68A, set to debut at FLIBS in October. The builder describes five wheelchair-friendly boarding options and a multi-deck internal elevator. We have not inspected the yacht, but the design brief alone raises a larger question: should more yachts include accessibility from the outset, or should it remain a custom choice?

Which approach makes sense to you, and where would you start?

A steel hull, an owner-driven layout, and a builder-estimated 4,000-nautical-mile range at 7 knots. The Steeler Ocean Explorer 67 has quite a brief to live up to.

At the Cannes Yachting Festival, Yorrith Joosten of Steeler Yachts took me aboard hull number one. We look at the wide starboard side deck, the living spaces and the machinery behind a boat intended for extended cruising. There is also one onboard rum detail I didn't see coming.

What would you inspect first: the layout or the engine room?

What makes a boat really stand out?

Sometimes it is not just speed, styling, or pedigree. Sometimes it is a design that feels genuinely built for the way people actually use boats.

In this latest YachtLens walkthrough, we step aboard the Sargo 45 at the Seattle Boat Show with Greg Houle of Inside Passage Yacht Sales.

The Sargo 45 makes a strong case for itself as a serious all-weather cruiser, but what really adds to the conversation here is the 3-cabin layout. That combination of capability, practicality, and livability is clearly resonating, and for good reason.

This video has now reached 350,000 views in just two and a half weeks, which tells me a lot of people see something special in this boat too.

Quick question for you: What’s the bigger win on the V68: the enclosed skylounge, or the way Horizon uses the interior volume for livability and storage?

More Horizon coverage is coming soon, including on-site content from the upcoming Horizon Open House in Kaohsiung, Taiwan .

You need to see this to believe it! For a 60-foot vessel, the engine room space is simply *absurdly* generous. We're talking incredible headroom that feels more like a sprawling workshop than an engine bay. And yes, that's *before* we even consider the sky lounge addition! This design is next-level engineering genius. Prepare to be amazed by the sheer volume down here!
