Oil change just to make all the fluids fresh. Nevermind that the shop that shall not be named (I’ll definitely name them just not on a post) that botched everything else screwed the oil filter on so tight I needed to crush it to get it off (rant over). Tires rotated. Primitive front skid plate finally installed. Slowly getting more things done. 🤌🏼🦄

There it is… 100k on the odo coming back from Whidbey Island Ren Faire this last weekend. I can’t lie, I’m being super picky and anxious about a lot of things right now… I’m trying to dial in the build and fix all these things that are popping up. But I still can’t be happier with how much she has taken care of me and I will forever do the same, at least until she’s dead dead and no longer driving. I hope that’s not for a very long time. She’s modded to hell and I gotta live with what comes with choices I made for these modifications. It’s still what makes her mine and unique. Cheers to the next chapter in our adventures together. 🦄

Was going to post this up yesterday but it was all about the moms, so, it got pushed to today 😅

I was putting it on thinking all the work was done and there weren’t going to be any more surprises but it’s still not over… more issues are coming up but, hey, she’s just about 100k on the odometer. The things I’m needing to do now are the things I was expecting to do regardless of the engine replacement. So… 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s just a little bit early, but here’s to the next 100k+ miles, Essence. Stay with me. Stay running. Please. 🦄🖤

Finally got around to replacing the rear cv axel that the shop who did my engine swap f’ed up. Sometimes the shop just around the corner is often the best choice. Ended up getting both rear axels and the desperately-needed brakes done all at the same time. Pretty much 2 jobs for the price of one. Essence is practically a brand new vehicle at this point. 🥹💙

Still figuring out how to replace the sound system though. I’m missing my tunes 😢

Gotta love fixing the laziness of a shop that “takes pride in the quality of their work” 🙄

Although, Jason over at was FANTASTIC getting a replacement shipped out and delivered just a few days after I contacted them.

Completed the install with some home-printed () TPU exhaust hangers to give me a little more clearance around the axel. This fitment is TIGHT 🥵😂

While I was back there I finally got the rear diff skid plate by installed.

Slowly getting things done the right way…

Loving being ! Always dependable people. Out with the old and in with my own little “custom” build. I’ve been sitting on some Pro-lift springs for a while now. hooked me up with the b6s. got it installed today with some new front CV axels. Sadly discovered at least one rear axel needs to be done because the shop who did the engine swap failed at the exhaust realignment (amongst other things 😂). I also gotta 3D print some new exhaust hangars. It’s definitely a rebuild year. But we’re doing things right. ✌🏼

Damn Les Schwab had to take the spacers off to take a screw out of a tire, patch, and then remount 😑 But whatever, I was in a rush. 😂

Was told breaks were low (Yes, thank you, I kinda figured. She’s almost at 100k on the trans and I haven’t had them done since I got her), and that tires are likely needed soon (also knew this already).

It’s fine. I’m fine. Everything is fine. The rebuild continues… Life has just been a lot lately on the home front, but at least I’m about to get a bit of lift 😉

One of the things stolen out of Essence when she was being rebuilt was my mandolorian guy. Found him randomly at a local Bricks and Minifigs. 🥹 The rebuild continues…

Her tires are a bit deflated. Horns disconnected. Lights and relays need to be reinstalled. New batteries needed. She’s dirty. The entire sound system plus some equipment from the back end is gone. I thought I’d be happy and relieved… Just not the best ending to what I thought was a “Christmas Miracle” with the engine work being completed just before the holidays. What matters is that she’s home and back in her stall. I can rebuild and replace the equipment. But replacing her is impossible. It’s been a long nearly 6 months since she left and 7+ months since the start of the whole ordeal… it’s still not over. A lot of work left.
Essence and I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. We’re certainly looking forward to starting the new year with pretty much a clean slate.
Much love and appreciation for all of you and especially to those who helped me through this journey.
