Pretty slept on if you ask me.

Factory turbocharged 6 cylinder sourced from the GNX, pop up headlights, and peanut butter guts. There’s a lot to like here. 👀

Of course, the PPI found a few things. A small seep from differential, a little seepage near the oil pan, and plenty of nicks and scratches from actually being driven.

But nothing we found would scare me away from the car. All things considered, this one looks like a pretty solid purchase.

Sometimes the interesting cars aren’t the ones everybody is chasing.

What’s a slept on car you think deserves more attention?

The inspection found some cosmetic imperfections, corrosion at the battery terminals, a seeping valve cover gasket, and signs of light rodent damage.

None of these are particularly alarming on their own, but they can mean additional maintenance and repair costs after purchase. That’s exactly what a PPI is for. Not every inspection ends with “buy it” or “walk away.” Sometimes it’s simply about knowing exactly what you’re buying.

A good car can still have problems. Know about them before they become your problems.

This one looked great, drove great, and had a super clean underside, but a PPI still found a few things worth talking about.

There’s an oil leak at the front of the engine that needs further diagnosis, oil wetness around the A/C compressor, dirty and overfilled brake fluid, and a slight vibration through the steering wheel and brake pedal at highway speeds consistent with warped rotors.

The good news? The dealer said the vehicle hasn’t gone through their service department yet, which gives the buyer an opportunity to negotiate having these concerns addressed before taking ownership.

Overall, still a strong candidate. Just a strong candidate with a better informed buyer now.

Every year I get a little closer to being able to afford my dream cars, and somehow they get even further away. 😭
