After some miles we detected a slight noise coming from the rear passenger wheel bearing. Wheel bearing are known to last 75k-150k miles. The wheels will feel like they have slight drag as well when failing.

Got it replaced, saved the customer from a potential future expense. 🦉

You can’t make this stuff up.

This is exactly why we say we’re glad we don’t own a repair shop what would be a $1,200 job quickly turned into something much larger.

Once the valve cover came off, we found a broken camshaft tensioner guide a non-negotiable repair. That discovery sent us down a road we didn’t plan on taking.

What was supposed to be a solid win turned into a loss. Parts weren’t expensive the time is what got us.

Still, the car needs to be right.
It needs to be sealed.
And it needs to move without future leaks.

Luckily, the timing belt, thermostat, and water pump were already done recently.

This is what doing it right actually looks like.

“I understand you came in here for a valve cover gasket replacement but since your camshaft guides are worn and broken you would need to do cam tensioners, cam tensioner gaskets, half moons, cam caps, timing belt, water pump, thermostat and anything else that breaks on this older vehicle”

All on a car our neighbor hit in such a perfect location to create maximum damage expenses.
