It was about 7am on Saturday morning when the racers started to arrive at San Tan Valley Raceway for all day action on the flat track. This was the first annual Winter Bash to be held here at STVR and I am already excited for next year. Track was ready to go shortly after racers arrived and we got the canopies set up for some shade. Steve showed up early with goodies from Dunkin Doughnuts and shortly after that my wife to my surprise brought out some fresh out of the oven homemade blueberry muffins. Then it was time to race! After eating of course.

Open race for the fall season, last night San Tan Valley speedway hosted AZGR and 10 racers competing in 3 separate races. It was a fast paced fun filled night and I had a blast.

Race Day folks!

Just wrapped up the 2015 season opener. Decided to run a enduro race to start out the new year. We ran 2 races in total Slot It Group C for the enduro and the Womp/Thumper regular race. We ran the enduro first 10 minute heats with 1 required pitstop per heat. The enduro was a blast and made nearly 500 laps on my track, Ed pulled out the win and I was close behind with new racer David coming in third. Great job! Ron came in 4th, Pete (also first race with A.S.C.R.A) came in 5th and Steve brought up the rear. The second race was Womps And Steve pulled his first win at San Tan Valley Speedway, Pete second and Ed third.

Nov. 13 race report.
Six racers again and we had a great night. We started off with womps and while they are a bit of a handful they are still pretty fun. Ed takes the win for the womp class with Steve in second and Ron in third. At least I finished this week but got some tuning to do. Gene is starting to get the hang of but Brenden had some controller issues. Next up my favorite 1/32 scale cars, Slot It group C. I took a commanding win in this class. My first win on my own track...... lol. Steve finished second with Ron right behind him. Ed did not fair to well in this class with a DNF and Gene is still improving. Brenden used a Fly car again we need to get him a Group C car still. For the last race we dropped down to 3 people. We gave running 4 inch Flexis a try and while doable I think they just might be a bit to fast for the small track. I did however take the win with Ron in second and Steve in third. Thanks to those that came out had a great night and I hope you enjoy the report.

Results for A.S.C.R.A season opener.

The weather is cool and it is time to race again. First race of the season we hosted 6 racers and ran three classes. We started the night off with classic Womp Womps with body of choice. Ed had a rocket with Steve not far behind and Ron rounded out the top Three. I had a DNF and Gene just edged his son Brenden out. Second we ran Slot It group C cars with tires of yours choice. We were short one Group C car so I subbed a well running Fly 917 for My nephew Brenden to run. 1st, 2nd, third was a repeat of the first race Ed, Steve then Ron. The third race it was getting late so we lost 2 racers so we ran a Fly Classics race, marshal your own car style. Ed beat me out for first by about 3 ft with Ron coming in third.

Nice day of test and tune. Me and Ed dialed in setups for Slot It Group C cars with silicones and dialed in the gearing for H&R. Bob came out to check out the new track and discovered how good Super tires work.

Inaugural Race

And race 3 on 10/29 H&R Sports Cars
While some called it a night we stayed and knocked out a third race. Plus I was dying to see the big stuff on my new track. I have to say H&R are a BLAST! These cars stuck like they had magnets in them and boy were they fast. I was a well fought battle with Slamin Steve on top again with me and roger hot on his heels. I struggled on red and I noticed one turn that just had rogers number or we would have dethroned Mr. Slamin, next time buddy! Pete was in the mix on this one also and Eric's sin Ryan put together one heck of a race for not having ran in a while.

Second race on 10/29 Slot It Group C
This one went to Slamin Steve with an American flag colored rocket! Pete was still hot coming off his win and was right on his heels coming in second with Ed in third. Once the track had some laps and a little rubber on it the foam tire really hooked up making this an awesome race.

San Tan Valley Speedway hosted AZGR 10/29 for its inaugural race. Here are the results.

First up we Had Fly Classics and they worked well on the new track surface. Pete came away with the big win on this one. He said he really liked the flat track because it reminded him of HO tracks he had raced on. Ed was hot on his heels for second with Roger and Slamin Steve tied for third. You might notice an unfamiliar name in this race "Gary" I let him in by accident so the person on deck ran in his place before they came in for their Race.
