If you ever find yourself heading south passing through Big Sur, we’d like to recommend a fun little hike to the point of San Simeon cove, technically on the Hearst ranch property. It is a chill, easy, 2.2 mile loop, and you’ll see elephant seals and other creatures! It’s the perfect way to stretch your legs a bit before getting back on the road!

Walk towards the end of the beach and catch the bluff trail through the cypress trees. You can also kayak and fish in the cove!

Our favorite thing about being on the road is that there are ALWAYS places to see along the way, even in the middle of “nowhere”! 🚐✨

The Paint Mines Interpretive Park is a unique blending of geological, archaeological, historical and ecological resources, and we were lucky to hear about it and stop by while in Colorado!

This type of funky rock formation is called a “hoodoo”— also called a tent rock, fairy chimney, or earth pyramid. It’s a tall, thin spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. These ones are even cooler because of the colorful gradient shades of pinks and purples.

This Iconic stretch of Utah’s Highway 163 is seen in countless Westerns and perhaps most notably, in the movie Forrest Gump. 👀

Monument Valley is a scenic panorama of epic sandstone towers ranging from 400 to 2,000 feet tall, and is spread across the border of Utah and Arizona. The valley is part of the Navajo Nation, which is among the largest native territories in America. The Navajo Tribe was the first group of people to establish themselves in the valley.

Monument valley is a must on any road trip through the southwest. We vote monument valley one of our top all-time fave sunset spots! Can you see why? 😍

Spring in Joshua Tree is epic. The warm weather and cactus flowers never fail to awaken our souls after a long winter. ☀️🌵🌼
