LS swapped Toyota Cressida

Customer came to us with maf errors on the stock ecu and asked for our advice. Ditch the stock ecu and install a Haltech Rebel LS.

For $1500 you can buy a Nexus ecu, wiring harness w/ multiple sub harnesses to work with pretty much any variant of GM LS engine. Install requires mounting the ecu, running power and ground to the battery, finding a 12v switched source, routing engine harness, and terminating fuel pump and fan control wires this ecu can be installed within a day or two. The kit supports auto or manual transmissions and pairs great with their IC-7 digital dash & CAN pad for complete control.

In this case install was slightly more complicated as the car already had an aftermarket fuse/relay box that needed to be reworked.

Andy’s R33 GTR is back for round two.

After completing the first stage of the build last year—focused on turbo, fueling, and supporting mods—it was time to take things further. This round centered around a serious upgrade: a PPG sequential transmission.

Running a sequential gearbox properly meant converting the RB26 from a traditional cable-driven throttle to a modern drive-by-wire system. This allows the ECU to momentarily cut engine torque during shifts for smoother engagement, while also enabling rev-matched downshifts. On top of that, it opens the door to precise idle control, traction control, and launch control.

A Haltech Nexus ECU made the transition straightforward, with plug-and-play support for both accelerator pedal and throttle body wiring. Additional inputs like gear position and strain gauge sensors were integrated, along with relay controls for the reverse lockout solenoid and reverse lights.

On the intake side, the OEM plenum was replaced with a billet unit featuring a Wiggins-style clamp. While previous builds typically used a single throttle body setup, this car went a different route with a Dahtone kit. It utilizes a modified Bosch throttle body mounted to the side of the engine, which actuates the factory individual throttle bodies through a linkage system.

To handle the upgraded drivetrain, ACT supplied a clutch assembly compatible with the PPG transmission’s larger 26-spline input shaft. A conversion kit was also installed to switch from the factory pull-style clutch to a more modern push-style hydraulic system

Dale’s 2016 STI build 700+whp . Car showed up with the turbine stuck in the muffler, a vacuum cleaner filter as an air intake, and a radiator full of nuts. You never know what you’ll find on some of these Sti’s that have been through a few owners. Customer asked to build the car the way we’d build one our own.

We brought it back to life with a closed deck 1/2” stud engine force fed by a precision 6266 through a complete ETS rotated turbo kit. Fueling supplied through a radium fuel pump hanger, ID1700’s, and IAG fuel rails & lines, powered via Iwire fuel pump controller. Power is transferred from flywheel to the tire with an Exedy twin plate clutch.

A custom mount was fabricated to locate the AOS away from the turbo and keep the hoses routed along the firewall as opposed to the off the shelf options. Oil pressure & air fuel gauges were installed for added safety.

To finish the build the STI wheels were powder coated, new tires, ebc brake pads with brembo rotors keeping the power to the ground with a set of Ohlin road & track dampers & alignment.

Important Shop Update:

I wanted to give everyone a heads-up on a few upcoming changes. Surgery in January, followed by a shop move in February, all while preparing to welcome a newborn. Life has been extremely busy and consumed time that for the last 10 years has been dedicated to customers and the business.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be taking some time to focus on family. During this time, I’ll still be accepting work, but only through email or my website scheduled in advance.

Please note:
• No diagnostic appointments at this time
• Priority will be given to larger scale jobs (engine work, major repairs, builds, etc.)

I appreciate everyone’s patience and support while I handle these big life changes. Looking forward to getting back at it full speed soon.

FA24 engine replacement. Pretty rare to be replacing one of these. Customer chose the best route - replacing with a partial long block from Subaru. Also added lowering springs & drivetrain fluid service. Finished the same week as drop off!

Scheduling will resume after the first week of January. January is filling up fast. If you’re interested in getting work done send inquiries here or [email protected]

I’m primarily scheduling larger jobs (engine r&r, swaps, builds, fabrication, performance parts, clutch replacements, wiring & standalone work)

Fun project finished up. Always a great time working with the boys! One lucky person will win this series white STI. Great selection of parts including 20g, turbo inlet, redline intake, 3 port ebcs, AOS, & more. Just enough to throw you back in the seat while still being reliable on the stock short block. Might have to get a few tickets myself!

GR STI finished up the other week. 500HP build including a BPT turbo, IAG flex fueling system, radium fuel hanger, Iwire fuel pump controller & battery relocation, IAG oil pan, COBB FMIC kit, Killer B turbo inlet, AEM oil pressure & wideband gauges & other supporting mods. Great setup to support over 500HP and retain stock location turbo.

Also installed new oem engine harness, re plumbed the AOS, and re coated the oem intake manifold to keep the engine bay looking as clean and well organized as a Subaru engine bay can.
