I do not just photograph my Jeep trips. I have created a book called "Seascapes". It is available on eBay.
This book, “Seascapes,” is a collection of images from 1985, capturing scenes using various film types and formats, including 35mm, medium (120), and large format (4x5). I spent months visiting the Point Loma tide pools in late Spring and Summer, dreaming of publishing or creating a book myself. After exploring many publishers and smaller book companies, the costs were too high. So, the photographs were tucked away in a box and forgotten. But now that the Internet offers so much at a lower cost and makes marketing easier, I’ve been inspired to put this collection of photographs into a book.
Why Point Loma tide pools? This spot is secluded, which allowed me to wander around and explore. I was captivated by the shapes of the rocks, with their sharp edges, the cliffs with ruts carved by wind, water, and wind, the smooth shapes of kelp and tidal stones that the waves had smoothed, and the textures of the driftwood. All these elements, along with how they relate to each other and the textures of each subject, really spoke to me.
So, I’m sharing these images with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did creating them.
