Coming to you from , M.V. Digby Island Ferry, powered by twin DI09s: “The DI09’s are bolted to Twin Disc MGX-5114DC’s with a 4.59:1 gear ratio. The engine to gear are coupled using Centaflex-R couplers. They have been running for exactly 2 years and have 2600 hrs on them with zero issues. We replaced 2 Detroit Diesel 8v-71’s bolted to Allison gears and are burning 30% less fuel. The refit was completed at Point Hope Shipyard in Victoria BC Canada in 2024.” - C. Nicholls, Sr. Engineer

Yesterday we participated at NMMA’s Boating Technology Day, hosted by Viking Marine Group in Atlantic City, alongside our distributor,Mack Boring & Parts Co..

The event brought together marine industry leaders, manufacturers, and policymakers to discuss emerging technologies and alternative fuels that can help shape a more sustainable future for recreational boating.

This gave us the opportunity to demonstrate how renewable diesel (HVO) can support emissions reduction goals using today’s engine technology. During the on water demonstrations, the twin V8 powered 50C, MACK ATTACK topped 39 knots while operating on an HVO fuel blend, showcasing that sustainability and high performance can go hand in hand!
