Are there any scrappers or metal recyclers out there? I have a question about copper wiring...
I have a whole bunch of copper wiring from an RV we just scrapped (I ripped it all out and put it separately, in a bin). I know that at the metal recyclers, copper goes for more per pound than some other types of metal and that if you strip the wiring down to bare (or clean) copper, you get paid more for it than if you leave the plastic on it and take it in like that. But I do not have the tools or a knife sharp enough to do all that stripping. It would be tedious and would take several hours of hard work and hard on my hands as well...
So my question is... how much more would you get for the copped that is stripped vs not stripped? Does it make THAT much more difference for, say, 50 or so pounds of copper to do all that work, or is it NOT that much of a difference to be worth the time, trouble, and aches in the hands? Please someone help me to decide what to do...because I need money!
..TO STRIP OR NOT TO STRIP, THAT IS THE QUESTION......LOL!!
