One of my favorite design features on Addy Bear, this 2024 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410, is the walk-through side deck.

Instead of stepping up and over a traditional cockpit coaming, the deck slopes naturally down into the cockpit, making it much easier to move forward and aft. It also creates a really useful docking position at the helm — especially when backing into a slip — because you can comfortably stand facing aft with a clear view down the side of the boat.

🎉 Closing number 8 for 2026! — Island Packet 420 ⛵

Some closings mean a little more.

I first got to know this buyer as one of my sailing students, and when it came time for him to buy his own cruising boat, the goal was bigger than simply finding the right make and model. We wanted to find a safe, capable vessel worthy of the time and adventures he plans to share with his son.

Finding the right boat sometimes means going farther—and I was happy to travel all the way to Virginia to help make sure we found the right one.

After the search, inspections, negotiations, and everything that comes with getting a cruising boat across the finish line, I’m incredibly excited to see him become the new owner of an Island Packet 420.

This one was especially rewarding. I started working with these buyers on a completely different boat, and we actually made it all the way under contract before realizing it wasn’t the right fit.

Instead of forcing the deal, we pivoted, kept searching, and ultimately found Gypsy, a Catalina 350 that checked the right boxes.

That’s what buyer representation is all about—helping clients navigate the entire process, adjust when circumstances change, and stay focused on finding the right boat, not just any boat.

This one feels especially rewarding. ⛵️

I first started working with these buyers back in January, helping them search for the right cruising sailboat to fit the life they were working toward. We actually went under contract on a completely different boat first, but sometimes the journey to the right boat takes a few turns.

That journey ultimately led us to this Caliber 47 LRC — and now they’ve officially closed!

More than just buying a boat, this is a big goal achieved for them and the beginning of an exciting new chapter enjoying the cruising lifestyle they’ve been planning for. I’m grateful I got to be a small part of helping make that happen.

A big thank you to Terri, the listing broker, for being such a pleasure to work with throughout the transaction. Great communication and cooperation always helps make the process better for everyone involved.
