A different type of post this morning. As far as the weather it will be a nice and normal day with highs around 80. Kinda boring, but kinda OK at this point. We're tired. Now on to the important part!

🚑 HELP US PATCH UP THE RUCKUS BUS! 🚑

With the acquisition of the Ruckus Bus, we’re looking for EMS patches from local fire and rescue departments to proudly feature inside the ambulance’s former “patient” area.

We want the inside of the bus to represent the departments and first responders who serve communities throughout our region.

Not much different except storms are now moving into Van Wert County and will be in Mercer soon.

The storm headed towards Mercer county does have some hail in and is headed towards the greater Celina area. The northern storm making a path towards the Mercer - Van Wert line is currently severe warned for hail and 60mph winds.

Nothing severe. Some gusty winds back in Indiana. Few claps of thunder and downpours.

Just this little guy floating along. No one to talk to and travelling a lonely road into southern darke county. Localized and short lived downpours are currently the only thing happening with this little fella.

HomeGrown Weather Information Update

As some of you may or may not know, HomeGrown Alerts is acquiring a retired Ambulance because lets face it, the weather around here leaves me feeling diaphoretic.

It is being picked up today!

It's primary purpose will be local parades, festivals, and fundraisers for local volunteer fire and ems departments. We will not use it to chase storms, although we may park beside them and use the siren in an attempt to scare it.

To support operational cost of the network HomeGrown Weather is looking for a Winter Weather Sponsor for this years snowpocolypse season and our crayon and construction paper© forecast.

🌩️ MOTHER NATURE HAS ESCAPED 🌩️

Mother Nature has apparently busted out of her court-ordered sensitivity training and is trying to make one more weather ruckus before authorities catch her again.

A Slight Risk for severe storms is in place for Mercer, Auglaize and areas north, with a General Thunderstorm Risk for areas to the south.

A few storms could reach severe limits, bringing:

💨 Damaging winds
🧊 Hail
🌪️ An ever-so-small chance for a skynoodle

The potential window is sometime between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. That is a rather large window, but Mother Nature does not follow the schedule of man. She arrives whenever she feels like it but it is usually when you’re grilling, mowing or trying to enjoy something outdoors.

Not everyone will see severe weather, but stay weather-aware and keep an eye on HomeGrown Weather for updates.

Hopefully, they catch her before she finds the hail machine.

🌤️ HOMEGROWN WEATHER: GET OFF MY LAWN EDITION

Today and tonight will bring more picture-perfect weather across the area, with afternoon highs in the mid-70s and overnight lows in the upper 50s.

And you know what that means…

MOW. THAT. GRASS.

After the Great Monsoon of 2026, some of your yards have become tropical ecosystems. There are probably undiscovered species living beside the shed, and your mailbox is one vine away from becoming an archaeological site.

Today is the day to fire up the mower, sharpen the blades and reclaim your property. Mow it straight. Mow it evenly. Blow the clibbins' off the sidewalk...

And for the love of freshly cut Kentucky bluegrass, don’t leave that one stupid strip you somehow missed.

This weather is far too nice for excuses and some of us unreasonable old men are driving around judging your lawn from the road.

You know who you are. 🌱👴

🍂 HOMEGROWN WEATHER: STEAL YOUR MAN’S HOODIE SEASON

Along with pumpkin spice, it is officially steal your man’s hoodie season.

Because on a cold, crisp morning, nothing warms the soul quite like a hoodie that doesn’t belong to you and that you have absolutely no intention of returning.

Mother Nature understands theft. She’s been stealing our happiness practically all summer with storms, heat waves, and downright unstable behavior.

She is currently feigning cooperation this week, but I’m keeping one eye on her and the other on my missing hoodie.

☀️ Today: Sunshine with highs in the mid-70s
🥶 This morning: Temperatures in the low 50s
🎃 Advisory: Pumpkin spice and unauthorized hoodie possession are both expected to increase
