Hello again everyone 👋🏻

It’s been a while since we’ve posted here. I’ve been going through some of what’s left of my dad’s old possessions, books, model kits, and some completed models that I’ll unfortunately need to sell or donate to make some space.

👋 Hello all! Beau here.

It's been a long time since we've posted here. About a week ago marked the 3rd year (October 18) since Peter passed away. It's been a hard 3 years without him for me and my family, but we know we'll see him again one day. Jon, Jennifer, and I all really appreciate your continued support and activity on this page. It means a lot to know that so many people still care and were such big fans of our dad.

🏁 Today also marks the first day of the 2020 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Pete 🏁

Jon and I were planning on going, but we won't be able to make it out this year. Sorry this is such a late post on the first event day, but we have 4 general admission tickets that we won't be using and would like to know if anyone wants them. They're $20 each ($30 when we bought them, but half the day is gone already) or $70 for all 4. Reply in this post if you want them and we'll work out payment.

Thanks again and have a great race weekend!

Jon Wingfield and I, Beau Wingfield, just bought our tickets to next year's Grand Prix of St. Petersburg! Gotta keep this tradition going in memory of our Father, Peter, and to keep you all involved in our lives somehow.

They also just started a Black Friday sale with BOGO General Admission tickets - http://gpstpete.com/tickets/promotions

Let us know in the comments if you plan on attending next March and maybe we can meet up at the event.
And for those of you in the US, have a happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!

Great video Matthew put together of our dad's workshop, studio, and gallery not too long ago. This was back when the gallery was a part of the studio. Now it's a much smaller space, but still has a lot of character and a gallery wall. Enjoy.

And if anybody else has photos or videos they'd like to share of Peter, his shop, or just memories you've had with him please feel free to post them on his personal page or right here.

Matthew and Shannon were invited to visit SAA and got a tour while Matthew and it's owner Peter talked model building. Check out his awesome space. Thank you...

Hi fellow SAA followers and friends of my father, Peter. This is his youngest son, Beau Wingfield. I wanted to let you all know that his family and I have planned a small memorial service for dad and invite anyone out there who knew him that would like to attend.

There are more details to come, but the service will be held this coming Wednesday, October 25th at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Clearwater, FL - Peter's current hometown. If you were a friend, coworker, client, or even all of the above we would love for you to attend and say farewell in the best way we know how. Even if you aren't local to Clearwater or Florida, you're completely welcome to share in this experience and farewell to my beloved, amazing, bad ass master builder of a dad and great friend.

Thanks to all of you who have posted on this wall, writing beautiful notes to my dad, and to those who haven't yet, but knew him in any capacity. It truly means a lot to his family and me.

p.s. feel free to friend request me and my brother, Jon Wingfield and message us with any questions, condolences, etc. or just to meet and talk about dad.

It is with deepest sorrow that we share that Peter Justin Wingfield passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 18th at the young age of 62. Though our hearts are grieving the sudden loss of such a remarkable husband, father, grandfather and friend, we know there is an immeasurable amount to celebrate over his life.

Peter was above all else passionate about Jesus and his family, but among that was his passion for art and cars. In 1991, Peter had a dream to start his own business that married his two passions - cars and art/design. This dream started out as Pro Select Racing Miniatures. He landed a job for Rousch Racing pretty early on that really kicked off his career. It then turned into Pro-Line Models shortly after and continued to grow over the years into what it is now known as Scale Auto Art.

He was intensely passionate and meticulous about his work and found so much joy in it. It emanated through every post here, every model he poured his heart into, and every person he met. He really lived and breathed auto racing. He couldn’t stay away from auto shows, races, events, and sometimes auctions, and brought his family with him whenever he had the chance so they could enjoy it with him. His love for art and cars left a tremendous influence on his family members - especially his wife and two sons - and it will continue impact everything they do in big and small ways.

Thank you to all of his customers and fans for your support and appreciation of Peter’s work. We are grateful his gift was able to brighten the lives of others.

Please check back here occasionally as his family will continue to post his lifelong work as a tribute to him and as a celebration of his wonderful life.
