The employees of Sorrells Body Shop paid tribute to U.S. Naval Veteran Royle Bradford Luker, as his remains were transported through Russellville to his final resting place in Plainview. Seaman Luker’s life was tragically lost during the attack on the Pearl Harbor Naval Base on December 7, 1941. After years of intensive research, his remains were finally positively identified and returned to Arkansas for burial. We are saddened to be reminded of the sacrifice of Royle Luker, and so many others, who have died in defense of our great country, but glad to know he will finally be laid to rest with his family in his boyhood community.

At the recent “Celebration of Excellence” held at Russellville High School, Jamie Sorrells of Sorrells Body Shop presented scholarships to several seniors that will soon be graduating and pursuing their college degrees. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of these students during their high school careers and wish them well as they continue their education in college. Recipients of the Sorrells Body Shop Scholarships were, Jake Linton, Claire Davis, Lexi Bailey, Addison Hixson and Jack Ruple. Not pictured but also receiving scholarships were Kaira White, Valerie Coleman and Danny Brown. We would also like to thank those involved with the Community Scholarship Program at Russellville High School that help secure funding from various local businesses and organizations for students seeking to extend their educational pursuits.

Rose Crowell of Sorrells Body Shop presents a $500.00 check to Becky Beavers, Administrator of the River Valley Christian Clinic. This wonderful organization provides health care and spiritual guidance to those in our community that may not be able to afford traditional health care. Many local health care professionals, ministers and other caring individuals volunteer their time and resources to help make the River Valley Christian Clinic a success.

Rose, who is also a volunteer at the clinic, chose them to receive this donation because of the compassionate services they provide. Thanks to Rose for choosing this worthwhile organization, and thanks to Becky and all those associated with the River Valley Christian Clinic. They are truly a blessing to our community.

Each quarter a selected employee from Sorrells Body Shop designates a local charitable organization to receive a donation from the business as part of the companies “Choose a Charity” program.

Raul Torres of the Main Street Mission is presented with Thanksgiving meal food items collected by the employees and customers of Sorrells Body Shop. A food drive was held during November and the food was distributed to local families by this caring & helpful organization that services families in the Arkansas River Valley.

Goodbye and Good Luck!

Last week a Retirement Party was held in honor of Tony Brown, a long-time employee of Sorrells Body Shop. Tony has been a loyal and dedicated part of our staff for the past 26 years and we will certainly miss him as he enjoys his well-deserved retirement years.

Tony was known for his calm demeanor, his attention to detail and the quality workmanship he always delivered. He was not only a great employee, he is a wonderful friend and we want to wish he and Connie the best in the years ahead.

Justin Cervantes, one of the body technicians at Sorrells Body Shop, presents a check in the amount of $500.00 to Ariz Ortiz, minister of the Iglesia De Cristo (Church of Christ), located at the corner of 5th & Greenwich Streets in Russellville. The church provides English lessons to members of the Hispanic community in the Arkansas River Valley in their “La Escuelita” program. These funds will be used to help purchase books and materials used in the program. “Justin is a compassionate young man that wanted to help people better communicate as they live and work here in our community”. Each quarter, Sorrells Body Shop selects one of the employees of the business to “Choose a Charity” that will benefit a local organization that helps make our community great.

The 📦 box is here in the lobby & collection day is December 13th.🎁🎄🎅🤶
The mission of the U.S. Marine corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. We work with other local organization in Pope and Yell County to make it possible.
