I won this boat in an online eBay auction in hopes to flip it and make some money.
Before bidding on the boat I looked through all of the reviews.
After winning the boat I go to check out and it won’t let me check out through eBay I am asked to pay outside of the ebay app and i’m sent an invoice and confirmation emails. This was of course a red flag, but I knew for a fact that a lot of other people have bought boats from them in the past per the reviews.
That same night I have some doubts and decide to do some research on the company and find a forum of someone explaining how they collect information from people who have decided to donate their boat to “boats for veterans”.
The boat then gets sold on eBay.
They don’t actually have access to the boats or the titles they simply just send you the owners name and phone number once the funds come through and then leave it up to you to get ahold of the owner, pick up the boat, get the title and they even ask of me to explain to the owner that i’m here in regards to “the boat he donated to boats for veterans” 😐

I have gotten ahold of the owner of the boat. I explained to them what is actually going on and planned to come and get the boat. I am so grateful to even be getting the boat because truthfully the owner is not obligated to hand it over to me 😂

After realizing I didn’t waste my money on nothing and I was still getting the boat, I had the great idea to restore this pontoon and STILL donate the boat to a random veteran when it’s all finished. After I receive the boat I will start a GO FUND ME page for the build since my “flipping boat” will now be a giveaway!
I’m excited to refurbish this thing and even more excited to be able to use this boat for its intended use!
I will keep y’all updated.
Please SHARE and if there are any veterans that you think would love to have a 16ft pontoon tag them in the post and they might be the lucky winner!
