Started a complete engine tear down today to the bare block, every main and connecting rod bearing had spun, older crankshaft 2884234 did not break, washed out cylinder 7 very light, 2 oil jetters failed, and a gummed up oil pump hard to turn. looks like this one was very poor maintenance, oil was think and sludge.

These 5.0 Cummins engines are very well built for sure, but the 12v electrical side lets them down for sure, I have a 2019 sv with the updated crankshaft, it gave a code for cylinder 7 low power or somthing strange, then after 3-5 mins of that it threw another code for cylinder 8 out of balance, cut the engine off immiedetly within 5 mins, them it came up code for cylinder 7 and 8 out of balance rate, getting ready to pull both cylinder heads, and see both cylinder heads 7 & 8 washed out, I had just got through with a full engine rebuild, when the 12volt power supply let the intire engine down, now onto rebuilding a new longblock engine yet again, be very carefull out there in the xd world.
