Time to do a few shakedown miles.
It’s an essentially new 1971 Heavy Chevy.
Quick rundown on what we did.

Every panel, minus the roof skin 3/4 of the firewall, and the hood was replaced. This car spent most of its life as a high school kids car. It was also treated as such.

The suspension was upgraded to tubular A arms , tubular rear control arms, lowering springs and a quick ratio steering box. Frame was cleaned up, and painted. Power C5 corvette brakes and rotors up front.

Drive train is the numbers correct engine and transmission, both beefed up when rebuilt. It was at best a 145hp car. Now it’s closer to 300-325. It is also now a fuel injection car.

Interior is completely new, WITH correct rubber floor. Rebuilt dash and original gauges. It’s a bench seat, column shift car originally. Kris also spent MANY hours locating the correct, AM radio that fits perfectly in the dash.

Really, there isn’t much I didn’t take apart, clean up, replace, or rebuild during this project!

From a pile of parts to rolling art. Pretty cool to see it as a complete truck.

One of my “good memories “ from when I was a little kid was helping Dad “clean up the coupe” before we went to a show. Some place there is a picture of myself about Wyatt’s age doing the same thing.

Pretty cool that we still have Dales (now my) 33 Dodge. It was Dads 1st car he built by himself. It’s the car that started my hotrod obsession. Been in our family for over 50 years. Hopefully this is the spark that starts his passion for building cool stuff.

Victory. Now it’s time to make it look like a car again.

Getting to play with something a little out of my norm. Another cool family story car. Should be fun. #
