Another race down. I wrote out a well detailed account and of course my Facebook closed out of it before I saved ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ so attempt โ๐ผ
We started out 5th on the line out of over 80 cars! Things were bound to get hairy but our goal was to save the car and simply finish the race.
Morgan and Shawn started, with lap one being buried in dirt, simply attempting to stay on course and kee good time. Steering issues began from the beginning making turns tricky, especially where the switchback types came into play. By lap 2 we felt good and decided not to pit, we had difficulty passing due to the dust and others but did manage to pass atleast one car. Keeping good time through lap 2 we pushed it close on the fuel with all of the technical uphill 2 wheel drive sections we were doing but a mile from the pit on the last downhill our driver rear axel snapped.
We were able to get back into the pit and decided to go ahead and swap out teams. Evan and David got locked in while the axel was being swapped out and off they went for lap #3 and unfortunately the last lap for the Gingertwin car. About mile marker #15 the clutch locked up sending the car upto 7500 rpms at 30mph and they were unable to complete the lap.
Shawn Gossage had already taken off to rescue Pacific Auto & Motorsports car so the guys ended up limping the car back ending our dp4 race #1.
DP4 Racing yโall made one hell of a track and we are looking forward to the rest of the series! One day we will complete a full race! Haha
Thank you to Desert Vets Racing, Corey, mike gross and plenty of others for the pit support!
