Today, as picnics are packed, flags are raised, and families gather, we pause to remember that the unofficial start of summer comes at the highest possible price.
Memorial Day is not merely a three-day weekend or a holiday of convenience; it is a solemn day of collective remembrance. It is the day our nation bows its head to honor the men and women who wore the uniform, took an oath to protect our freedoms, and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
How We Honor Them Today
True honor is found not just in words, but in how we live our lives in the freedom they secured for us. Today, we honor their memory by:
🇺🇸Pausing in Reflection: Taking a moment during the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00 PM local time to observe a minute of silence.
🇺🇸 Supporting the Families Left Behind: Acknowledging the Gold Star families whose sacrifice is lived every single day of the year, not just today.
🇺🇸 Living with Gratitude: Protecting the ideals of liberty, unity, and community that generations of heroes fought to preserve.
To those who gave their tomorrows so we could have our todays: you are not forgotten. May we live lives worthy of their sacrifice.
