Tomorrow, we're taking the 🧡Beaver🧡 to a car show locally! You haven't seen this truck yet, mostly because I bought it as a finished project for a hell of a deal! I don't usually buy finished projects, but this one was a special one because it's a 77 auto! This truck is PRISTINE. Yeah, the rims are orange🧡 I've considered powder coating them black, but it kinda makes the truck a talking point, so maybe I'll let the next buyer do that!

Hey guys, it's been a minute ⏰ Once the freeze season stopped, it's been nothing but go-go-go for the last 7 weeks!

I'll update you on what my brother and I accomplished during this time, so stay tuned.

BEFORE➡️AFTER !

As you saw in the last post, Pearl had previously suffered an engine fire. Then sat for 5 years! I tore down the intake and valve covers, and cleaned up the engine bay. I sanded down the valve covers, and repainted them and the intake. I also put all new gaskets in, since the old ones were melted.

What do you think of the blue? 🔵

This is Pearl - a 1979 Ford Highboy. I wasn't supposed to find Pearl, but she found me 🤣 I was looking for parts for Project Ole Blue and I met with a local guy who had a roller I wanted to look at. He happened to have this truck parked in the back that had been sitting for 5 years 😱

Original owner, low mileage, but had suffered an engine fire. The owner had it sent to the shop and was told it was a complete loss. Instead of parting it out or disposing of it, it just sat there until I found it 😅

I asked what he wanted to sell it for, and he said ⚠️$1,000⚠️😱😱😱 I knew I should call and ask the wife, so as a good husband, I did. I told her the price and she said "Well, are you going to buy it?"

So instead of coming home with a roller, I came home with my 3rd Highboy 🤣🤣🤣
