There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our builds out on the open road where they belong.

A huge thank you to one of our fantastic longtime clients for sending over this great photo of his duo: a 1976 Chevrolet El Camino and a 1972 Corvette Roadster.

Both machines received extensive upgrades tailored for serious driving:

- 1976 El Camino: Fuel-injected 383 stroker, overdrive transmission, alongside full suspension and brake enhancements.

- 1972 Corvette Roadster: Modern LS swap paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, complemented by full suspension, upgraded brakes, custom exhaust, wheels/tires, and a refreshed interior.

Instagram only allows 10 pics in a post, but so much more happened this week at the V8 Speed & Resto Shop! We sent home a Monster Mini, buttoned up the tune on the LT4 '69 Camaro Pace Car, fired up the original Olds engine we built for a cool '71 convertible Cutlass, fabbed sheetmetal and fitted up the custom narrowed rear fold-down '67 Camaro seat to fit between mini-tubs, upgraded '62 Starfire suspension, got process management training from an industry leader, finished primary bodywork on the '63 Corvette, installed the floor sheet metal in a '69 Camaro convertible, mated the '79 TA to it's subframe and started brake plumbing and A/C... and hundreds more accomplishments that don't fit in the post! Bring on the weekend! Thanks Team V8 for all the great work!

We're making incredible progress on our 1979 Trans Am 10th Anniversary build, affectionately nicknamed "Quicksilver"!

In our last update, we were knee-deep in metal work on the dashboard and firewall. Fast forward to today: everything has been finish welded, body worked, seam sealed, and color matched. We laid down a gorgeous satin black on the front, while keeping the original gray interior color right on top of the dash where it belongs.

Over on the other side of the shop, the engine has been test run, leak tested, and painted in that iconic, original Pontiac blue. Pair that with a fully completed subframe—now rocking a Borgeson quick ratio power steering box and Wilwood six-piston brake calipers—and this classic is built to do it all: go fast, turn hard, stop on a dime, and deliver maximum driving fun.

We love taking a look everyone knows and loves, and elevating the performance to make it an absolute blast to drive every single day.

It was another busy week at the V8 Speed & Resto Shop! We completed a photo / video shoot on the '57 Ford Ranch Wagon, started stripping paint on the '70 Chevelle, delivered a righteous '78 Trans Am on which we just finished a full LS Restomod conversion, finished the subframe and painted the firewall and LT engine on the '79 Trans Am, finished a Holley EFI install on a sweet '51 Chevy custom, readied a '69 Charger for the media blaster, test fitted the chassis to the '84 Trans Am, dropped the '71 Olds Cutlass body on the restored frame and fresh engine we built... and completed tons of work on about 12 more cars that don't fit in this post! Happy Labor Day to you and the 33 passionate crew members of the V8 Team.. they deserve it!

Two different cars sharing a common bond 👉 a KILLER black and gold color combo.

The 1980 Datsun 280ZX is a 10th Anniversary Edition with only 3,000 being produced and is visiting the V8 Speed & Resto Shop to make the car safe and reliable to hit the open road once again. The 1972 Camaro shows off freshly painted stripes, a newly installed Holley Terminator X EFI system, a new Borgeson power steering gearbox, and other upgrades making it a joy to drive and real head turner at local car shows.

How about a pair of Fastbacks to move your needle into the red? The 1968 Ford Mustang GT and 1967 Shelby GT500 both came to the V8 Speed & Resto Shop for some work, and we couldn't resist sharing some pics. The '68 is a 390 4-speed car, and the GT500 is a very rare factory A/C equipped 428 thoroughbred. Got a favorite?

🏁 Big Block Chevelle Engine Build and Drive at V8 Speed and Resto Shop

We showed you some of the engine build of this classic 1970 Chevelle SS 396, and now it's back in the car and ready to rock!

When this Mulsenne Blue Chevelle SS came to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop, it was sporting a gorgeous recent restoration with all the right SS features—white stripes, sport suspension, front disc brakes, bucket seats, and air conditioning. However, the numbers-matching 350HP 396 V8 and Muncie 4-speed had been ridden hard over the years and needed serious help.

Watch as our team carefully extracts the engine, machines the block true and square to a .040-over bore, and upgrades it with a Comp Cams roller camshaft, Edelbrock aluminum heads, and an aluminum intake manifold—all while preserving the original number stampings! We also rebuilt the 4-speed to handle the new torque demands.
