"The folks at Foreign Car Specialists stood behind their parts and labor when a fan motor resistor failed after only 1 year in the car. They also remediated a problem with the glove box access to a motor which, for a year, I was puzzled as to why I could no longer get the glove box to open (never dreaming a mechanic would try to access a fan motor via the glove box). Standing behind their parts and labor is a huge plus in my book. And addressing a problem that had been caused during the previous repair work was an even bigger plus. Integrity."

"Foreign Car Specialists exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I contacted them, their communication was clear and professional — they provided a straightforward estimate, explained the needed repairs in plain language, and set an accurate timeline. When I dropped my vehicle off, the staff was courteous and took the time to listen to my concerns and note every symptom I’d noticed.

The quality of the work was outstanding. The technicians demonstrated deep expertise with European makes and models; they diagnosed the issue precisely and used OEM-quality parts. My car was returned in excellent condition, with all systems functioning perfectly and no surprise follow-up problems. They also performed a thorough inspection and pointed out a few minor items to monitor, which I appreciated as proactive, honest service rather than an attempt to upsell.

Pricing was fair and transparent. The final bill matched the estimate, and any additional recommendations were clearly explained before any extra work was performed. Turnaround time was reasonable and they kept me updated throughout the process, which made the whole experience stress-free.

Customer service was exceptional from start to finish. Everyone I dealt with—reception, service advisor, and technicians—was professional, respectful, and genuinely helpful. They clearly value long-term relationships with customers.

I will continue using Foreign Car Specialists for all my vehicle needs and confidently recommend them to anyone who owns a foreign car and wants honest, reliable, and expert service."

The Fourth of July: The Price of Independence

As we celebrate Independence Day with family, friends, parades, cookouts, and fireworks, it's worth remembering what the Declaration of Independence meant to the 56 men who signed it.

On July 4, 1776, they pledged to one another "our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor." Those were not empty words. By signing the Declaration, they committed what the British Crown considered an act of treason. Had the Revolution failed, many could have faced ex*****on.

These were not reckless men with nothing to lose. They were lawyers, merchants, physicians, farmers, plantation owners, businessmen, and public servants. Many were among the most respected and successful citizens in their colonies.

The Revolutionary War brought enormous hardship to many of them.

Some saw their homes occupied or damaged by British forces. Others lost businesses, ships, crops, or personal wealth. Several were forced to flee their homes to protect their families. Some served in military or political leadership throughout the war under constant threat of capture.

Francis Lewis watched as British troops destroyed his home. His wife was captured, imprisoned under harsh conditions, and never fully recovered.

John Hart fled into the New Jersey countryside while British and Hessian troops occupied the area. His farm suffered damage, his family was scattered, and he returned home after months in hiding to find that his wife had died.

Thomas Nelson Jr. devoted much of his fortune to the Revolutionary cause and experienced severe financial losses during and after the war.

Carter Braxton lost valuable merchant ships during the conflict and struggled financially for years afterward.

Not every signer lost everything, and not every story passed down over the years is historically accurate. But together, these men accepted extraordinary personal risks to establish a nation founded on the principles that all people are created equal and are endowed with unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Their courage was matched by the sacrifices of thousands of soldiers, sailors, militiamen, and ordinary citizens whose perseverance secured American independence.

As we celebrate this Fourth of July, let's remember that the freedoms we enjoy today were earned through remarkable courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief that liberty was worth defending.

Freedom has never been free.

Happy Independence Day, and may we always strive to be worthy of the sacrifices made by those who came before us.

One of the questions we occasionally get from customers with AWD vehicles is:
"I only have one bad tire. Why are we discussing replacing more than one?"
It's a reasonable question.

What many drivers don't realize is that on most modern AWD vehicles, the tires are effectively part of the drivetrain system. As tires wear, their overall circumference changes. Even a relatively small difference between a new tire and a worn tire can affect wheel speed readings and force the AWD system to compensate continuously.
Manufacturers such as Subaru, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Land Rover, and Volvo all publish guidelines regarding tire matching and allowable tread depth differences for this reason.
The concern isn't the tire itself. It's the transfer case, differentials, clutch packs, and other AWD components that are designed to manage temporary wheel-speed differences—not permanent ones created by mismatched tires.
Does every AWD vehicle automatically need four tires when one is damaged?
No.
Sometimes one tire can be replaced. Sometimes two. Sometimes the best answer is four. It depends on the vehicle, the remaining tread depth, and the manufacturer's specifications.
That's why we measure before we recommend.
Our goal isn't to sell tires that aren't needed. It's to determine whether the existing tires can safely coexist with a replacement tire and to help our customers avoid unnecessary drivetrain repairs down the road.
Sometimes the least expensive decision isn't the cheapest tire purchase—it's the one that helps prevent a transfer case replacement later.
At Foreign Car Specialists, we don't guess. We measure, research, and make recommendations based on the vehicle in front of us.
