6 Inbound Marketing Mistakes Lawyers Make

MARKETINGBy Alison Mackenzie, Published September 7, 2012

No White PaperMost lawyers advertise in the yellow pages or online in a local directory. However, they assume that clients automatically understand what they do. Most of the time, clients don’t know why they should choose you over someone else. Give them a reason.A white paper explains your business and why you’re different from every lawyer out there. “Faster service,” “we care,” and other generic slogans aren’t a point of differentiation. Find a real unique selling proposition. In a world of lawyers that are too busy to return client phone calls, does your firm call clients back within 24 hours, guaranteed? If not, can you make this a point of differentiation?Explain your profession in simple terms in the white paper, and include case studies of how you’ve helped other clients. On it’s own, a white paper is not strictly an inbound marketing function, however it can be used as part of an inbound marketing campaign in conjunction with distribution methods that position it to send visitors your way.No Email List or FollowupMost lawyers don’t have the time or expertise to build an autoresponder series or even learn how to use one. Hire a marketing firm to do this for you if you don’t have the time to do it yourself, but get a systematic email followup system in place. Then, market to your email list. Set up a questionnaire or quiz to see if your services might be beneficial to them.Next, offer them the answer via email, along with a detailed review of their case for free if they give you their email. Once you have their email, periodically follow up with them. You can send example case studies similar to their case, or you can send client testimonials or your own personal stories that are relevant to what your client is going through right now. This allows you to connect with your clients on an emotional level.Once you’ve earned their trust, ask for the sale. Many businesses have discovered email marketing is one of their most valuable marketing initiatives. Attorneys are no different in this regard. E-mail marketing is very powerful and not to be ignored if new client acquisition is important to a practice.Read more at http://www.business2community.com/marketing/6-inbound-marketing-mistakes-lawyers-make-0272686#5ZYPEmXrVYquP7Fi.99 Regards,Duane [email protected]: www.guidergroup.comOffice: 412.255.3796Mobile: 412.654.6500The Guider GroupKnowing The Way Is Our Business.

Drip Marketing and Why you should consider it

Drip Marketing and Why you should consider it

Drip Marketing and Why you should consider it

By: Jennifer PerezDrip marketing is a wonderful marketing tool where you can send different marketing materials for a certain duration of time whether it be via postcards, newsletters, email newsletters or promotional sales brochures. Out of all mentioned, my favorite by far has to be email newsletters, as they are very easy to create, updated and can be sent in any frequency you wish, while saving you the cost of postage, which nowadays is pretty high!Drip marketing came from a common agricultural phrase known as "drip irrigation" in which you water crops or plants using small amount of water over a long period of time. See the correlation? You have to tend and nurture your leads as said plants, little by little gaining their attention over a certain period of time.Law 29 is the reason this method came to be, which states that a client will not become a customer until they have seen a marketing message, at the very least 29 times. This is not always the case but a theory and I believe if you have a great product and provide up to date current product information, show events, and marketing promotions you will have great success with this form of marketing.Below is a step by step plan to make your drip campaign a success, all in all I believe it is a cost effective, easy and efficient marketing tool and if you stick with it, it will send your company into new heights.Step 1: Develop your Plan and think of what frequency you would like the information to go out, monthly, weekly, etc.Step 2: Strategize the Ex*****on of Your PlanStep 3: Decide who your Target is, if you have a lead database this is simple, if not research the net, or on Twitter searching for companies such as yours and viewing their following.Step 4: Create consistency by developing your slogan or phrase. Then place it on every promotional and marketing piece. Regards,Duane [email protected]: www.guidergroup.comOffice: 412.255.3796Mobile: 412.654.6500The Guider GroupKnowing The Way Is Our Business.

How an Industrial Distributor Uses Content Marketing Effectively

by ACHINTA MITRA on JULY 7, 2011in CONTENT MARKETING, INBOUND MARKETING, INDUSTRIAL MARKETING STRATEGIES

Websites of most industrial distributors follow the same basic format – the focus is on their product line card. You will find little evidence of best practices in content marketing – relevant, valuable and compelling content for customers. In other words, the online content is very product-centric. http://industrialmarketingtoday.com/how-an-industrial-distributor-uses-content-marketing-effectively/Regards,Duane [email protected]: www.guidergroup.comOffice: 412.255.3796Mobile: 412.654.6500The Guider GroupKnowing The Way Is Our Business.

The Death of Traditional Marketing and the Rise of Inbound

By Biserka Anderson, Published August 19, 2012

“Traditional marketing — including advertising, public relations, branding and corporate communications — is dead. Many people in traditional marketing roles and organizations may not realize they’re operating within a dead paradigm. But they are,” wrote Bill Lee in the Harvard Business Review. Within an hour of being published, the article was trending on the professional social network LinkedIn.Lee is not the first person to sound the death knell of traditional marketing. In April 2012, Saatchi & Saatchi’s CEO, Kevin Roberts, created a stir by proclaiming the death of marketing that is based on strategy and management.Read more at http://www.business2community.com/marketing/the-death-of-traditional-marketing-and-the-rise-of-inbound-0249702#3wfjGYCFKSGqLxOE.99Regards,Duane [email protected]: www.guidergroup.comOffice: 412.255.3796Mobile: 412.654.6500The Guider GroupKnowing The Way Is Our Business.

This article supports our big push for our customers to realize the benefits of inbound marketing services over just one piece of the puzzle. Constructing a solid Internet marketing plan will allow you to stay engaged with existing and potential customers, positioning your company as a forward-thinking organization. Unfortunately, too many businesses believe that what was effective a few years ago is still just as effective today. They believe that social media marketing packages alone are all that is needed to succeed. This is no longer accurate. If you want to compete in the ever-changing online marketing landscape and keep on par with your competitors, you need a comprehensive approach to online marketing. Not only do leads generated through social and content marketing cost half as much as traditional outbound-generated leads (see below), they also close at higher rate (again, see below).

And social media isn’t just about lead generation of course. While prospective buyers are using search and social to research products and services before making purchase decisions, marketers and PR professionals can use those same tools to research buyer wants and needs. Chasing the New Angel Investors

Chasing the New Angel Investors

Chasing the New Angel Investors

Most of us know what a business angel is, especially if you have ever started your own company and have needed funding to see your company grow. These business angels not only invest their money but also their time by contributing their business management expertise and their network of personal contacts. I believe it is a very interesting way to obtain investment but because this tends to be a long term relationship, it is very important to find the right business angel for your particular company´s needs and find one that can provide added value to the company. Hereafter, I am going to mention some of the pros and cons to angel investing. Amongst some of the pros, we have: their ability to raise smaller amounts of capital if needed, they invest in nearly all markets worldwide, they tend to be more flexible in their agreements than traditional financial institutions, and they are able to provide their knowledge and professional contacts to the company. Amongst the cons, we have: that one might have to lose some control in running the company due to the active role a business angel might want to have (himself or his team of advisers), they might not have the industry knowledge one thought and therefore cannot provide that added value to the company we mentioned earlier, their participation can be costly because they might want a percentage of the company as well as a high ROI for their exit, and finally one might come across an angel investor whose mayor concern is monetary and not about the future success of the company. I believe the pros outweigh the cons by far. My advice is to hire an experienced professional who is accustomed to dealing with angel transactions and can help you understand the contractual requirements that will be set forth with your agreement. Monica [email protected] Enlarge Image Angus Loten/The Wall Street Journal Angel funding has become increasingly available to entrepreneurs like Mr. Bolden, whose product ideas are in the earliest stages. Of the $8.9 billion in total investments by angels in the first half of this year, 39% went into seed and start-up ventures, up from 26% of $8.5 billion in total investments over the same period in 2010, according to data from the University of New Hampshire's Center for Venture Research.
