What’s on my mind? The life sucking soap box asks called FB.

I’ve decided that I’m going back to riding with a well sorted motorcycle, a map, a small tool set and points a condenser kit.

I came into riding “adventure bikes” at the beginning. This s**t is off the rails.
What is a necessity now was not even a luxury then.
There are some folk I know that won’t go down a dirt road because they don’t have knobby tires.

I was happy to have tires and went anywhere I pleased. If it got tough. Well. I had……. An adventure.

Starbucks has plenty of space for you creampuffs.

I’ll make my own s**tty gritty coffee.

Bit of varnish. Pine was less than ideal but it was a 2x4 now it’s a prop. Going to scrounge some hard wood with tighter grain and do another.

In a former life I was an aircraft mechanic. I got to travel all over the world. Now I’m housebroke and have a “full time night woman”. Anyway this is about the photo. On old bikes like a /2 rear turn signals and other than stock wiring isn’t really a thing other than the hella bar ends. I like to use this rubber lacing for wire to frame attachment. It just seems fitting. We used on old U-21 aircraft I worked on. (Unpressurized king air 90). It’s available I just ordered a new roll. P/N T-1223 Lacing. It’s good stuff.

The shop wreaked of old bike breath again today. It’s refreshing/poisonous.
69’ ? R60US is back alive after 40 year slumber. Exhaust cleared out nice after a few minutes running. Carbs need tuned and tank needs a petcock. Has usual oil leaks. Overall not bad original paint with wear.
Going to offer up for sale soon. Likely will be good as a running riding project for someone to enjoy.

Sorry for lack of post. Been busy. A oil head followed me home and has been needing more fingers than this Dutch boy has to keep the oil in. It will be a good bike shortly if anyone is looking for a 2000 R1100rt in good nick. Speak up.

While installing a new wiring harness on my own /2 I’m taking time to address some rust from a leaking battery (before I became the custodian of this machine). It’s unfortunate. This bike has great original paint. The perfect blend of patina and sheen. I don’t like to touch up paint. Usually just wax often where rust has poked through on original paint. But in removing the rear fender it exposed areas which can’t be waxed. As needed it’s getting a rust treatment and a touch up of rustoleum .
Only where I can wax. Chicks dig scars after all 😉

My dear wife showed up in the garage with snacks. Said it was time to relax.

In the middle of putting a new wiring harness in my own R50/2. The insulation is getting crunchy and there’s a few unsavory repairs in th old one.

Yes that’s a welding rod. It’s stainless 🤷🏼‍♂️
