“To those that say "but you sleep at the station".... that we only work 2 days a week...that we make great money. You have no idea the pain I carry...or memories that haunt me. I joke about the b.s. calls yes..but believe me, you should be happy I don't share the ones that matter. Sleep at the station? Yea, but have you ever laid down moments after telling an old lady her husband of 60 years is now dead? To see the will to live in her leave her body? Or sat down for meal using the same hands you held a dead baby moments ago trying everything in your power to bring him back? So next time you think of looking at me or my brother/sisters (Cops as well as fire) and comparing do me a favor...don't.”
