Customer brought a 2014 Chevy Silverado 5.3 engine with an intermittent misfire and trouble code p0430. This truck seems someone had replaced the spark plugs and catalytic converter and didn't correct the issue upon further diagnostic with an in-cylinder I found that it had inconsistent drops while cranking this indicated a leaking valve inside the cylinder. As you can see each of the top peaks of the towers they are supposed to be even while cranking and sustaining the pressure while this truck had some at a higher PSI and the next Tower a significant drop of 9 PSI which would cause a misfire. This truck will definitely have to be sent out to a machine shop to get the cylinder heads redone

Shop states there’s charging issues with this Ford flex. They replace the alternator and still had the battery indicator illuminated. Upon diagnosing it I found that the power wire to the alternator wasn’t present at the connector. I checked the harness found someone else had tampered with it, and a found someone had tried to fix it. I found that battery acid had destroyed or corroded some of the wires. Repaired the harness and everything is back to normal.

Customer paid $320 round trip for a tow truck to take his car to a shop in north phx waited two days for them to tell the customer they needed more days because they couldn’t find the cause of crank start and die symptom. Checked fuel pressure only read 12lbs so I knew it would be a faulty pump or it was leaking internally. Removed it and found the pressure hose ruptured inside causing fuel pressure loss. I always recommend customers to actually put premium parts like these to avoid failure while on the road.

2009 Chevy Colorado intermittent “serial data fault” no crank no start.
This truck was brought to me by this customer with this intermittent issue. His mechanic had ran a power wire to his ignition switched and also changed his ignition switch thinking that that was going to solve his issue. He states that it ran good for two weeks and then this happened again after checking it and doing a full scan I noticed that there was a code for a serial data bus fault I decided to scope the data and found it was shorted. So I looked to see what modules ran on that serial data and started disconnecting one by one the first one was the ABS once I disconnected it I knew that the data came back online and the truck turned on perfect. Once I plugged it back in the data shorted and had no crank no start. The module was shorted I need to be replaced apparently before the module had also codes and was notifying him on the dash but he chose to ignore it.

Did a bench test on a Lexus GS300 car came in from a shop with crank no start. Shop replaced the ecm and still no communication. Did a bench test to the ecm and was successfully able to communicate. After some time I was able to find the v***r pressure sensor shorting out the ecm.

2002 ford crown Vic overheating. Thermostat would open fine, fan would turn on, water pump was pushing, so I did a thermal imaging and found 170 degrees in some parts and 220 degrees on other sections.

1975 Mazda RX2 I got called for radiator fan inoperative the belt shorted the wires when the belt had snapped. Got their quick and diagnosed it and fixed the issue. I have to say this was a beautiful car I got to work on today! 😎
