“When ‘Anytime’ came out, I was in middle school. I would leave school early to be on the cover of Ebony Magazine and then come back to school the next day. Dealing with the duality of these two lives, I’ve done everything on the map possible that any young guy could want to do; a lot of things I'm not proud of. But what hurts me more than anything else is not being the role model for my younger brother and cousins. I’ve really come to dislike how many people have gotten to know me and realize that I wasn’t the guy in my songs; the guy I really want to be. But that’s honestly shaped my whole goal in terms of what I want to teach with every audience I reach - that it’s not a boast that you want to proud of. And my only intention is to teach guys how to treat women. Even the entities that we look up to, the James Bonds, as cool of a guy as he is, he ends up alone. If young guys can become stand up gentlemen again, we’ll change the world. My album and everything I’m working on now has really taken on this spiritual essence in the sense that you feel me giving my soul and seeking redemption. That’s what I know I’m supposed to do. I know everyone's already aware of how well Adele's '25' is doing, but this is insane! Nearly twice that of Taylor Swift's 21.6% market share last year with '1989'.

The act of purchasing of an album -- whether from your computer or your local store -- has become an increasingly rare thing for folks to do. Other than a small 1.4 percent increase in album sales in 2011, every year for the past 15 years the album has been finding it harder and harder to breathe.

(2/2) “Nate actually started in music as a drummer, but was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy as a teenager, so he turned to engineering. He's a freaking genius at what he does, but the studio slowed down and that's when we started to struggle financially. I at least had my teaching gig but I lost that too when I lost my Bronco in a blizzard and couldn’t get around anymore. We lived with Nate’s family for a bit, but then we made the huge mistake of moving in with his ex-wife. She became extremely hostile towards us and eventually kicked us out of their house without letting us pack our stuff, including our equipment and instruments. We had to nomad our way around in Nate’s truck and you just can’t do that in Boston in the winter. So we had the option of moving to Orange County where my family lives. It’s been tough because it’s nearly impossible to write or gig without your instruments; not to mention there aren’t a lot of musicians or studios here. But we get up after every punch life throws our way; still fighting to leave our individual marks on this planet. Do I regret following my dream? No, because music is my first love, without which I never would have met the complete love of my life; somebody who shares the same recognition of true beauty through similar eyes.” -Zanna, Singer/Songwriter

(1/2) “Within six months of applying to Berklee, I had myself a scholarship, and I was gone. And once I got there, I knew I was meant to be there. Everything started clicking for the first time in my life. But I wasn’t having a lot of luck with the studio where I was working, so my drummer recommended another. He said ‘I know this place, but the guy running it is a little rough around the edges.’ Turns out I like ‘rough around the edges.’ I walked in, shook his hand, and knew immediately that I was in love. After graduation, I became his assistant engineer - king and queen. I was writing and recording prolifically, winning Billboard awards, teaching during the day, gigging at night, and being flown in to sing weddings on the weekends. It’s probably the happiest I’ve ever been. I wish I could go back to that time because everything started to fall apart after that.” -Zanna, Singer/Songwriter
